"I have been to many resorts. This was a beautiful resort. Many restaurants on site. You really do not have to leave. Give it a 9.8 on a 1 to 10 scale. The water was not hot enough in the showers."

Hotel Riu Ocho Rios - All Inclusive

"I have been at better all-inclusive resorts than Riu Ocho Rios. They advertise 24/7 all inclusive resort. That is false advertising, no room service. There are very few employees that are pleasant with customers at the restaurants. When I checked in I asked if the two rooms were had conjoining doors and I was told yes but they were not. Building 4 is the building for families and there is no elevator so you have to carry your luggage up 2 flights of stairs, because front desk said we can just take our luggage. In one of the rooms the weather stripping was falling off and the door wouldn’t latch closed. In other room the toilet wouldn’t flush. There was ants and bugs in both rooms because the weather stripping was not existent on bottom of doors. Life Guard at pool was rude. He wasn’t even sitting in his chair where he could see pool, it was windy and one of the girls was spraying on sun screen and he told her she needed to walk away from pool to spray on sunscreen rather than him moving to where he should be sitting. Overall I would never stay at this hotel again. Paid a lot of money for this trip and don’t think the accommodations were worth what I paid."

"Positives Staff - The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Grounds - Immaculate Activities - There are many activities to choose from. You literally cant be bored unless you want to be. Food - They have a wide variety each day Negatives: Rooms - Looks and feels average. There was nothing special about it. Room Service - The quantity of itiems placed in the room fell short as if they didbt expect us. Food - While they had a wide variety, the food tasted like it could be better seasoned."

"Overall had a really good experience at this resort. I wish my room was more accessible inside (only had one working electrical socket) and it was a bit cleaner (had a smell to it). "Owner Ms Annika Manager Ms Natalie A 24hr water failure and appalling management made this my worst travel experience. 5/22 Lukewarm water & low pressure. 5/23 Water shut off mid-shower late night. 5/24 No water all day. Used bottled water for hygiene at 8am. Asked Ms Annika who claimed a main break & tank was being filled. When returned 8:30pm still no water. I discreetly tried to speak to Ms. Natalie, who relayed message through server to say a plumber was working on it. My driver helped me source two gallons of water. When I returned the security checked on the status with the plumber who informed he was fixing a crack. Late night a trickle returned, but the toilet wouldn't flush; I manually bucket-flushed it using the wet bar sink and garbage pail. 5/25 Asked Ms. Natalie to tell the owner my concern about the no water and that I believed some type of compensation would be due and I would like to discuss it before my departure time at 10am. 5/26 Low pressure fed only half the showerhead. Management dodged me until security called Ms. Annika at 9:50 AM. She arrived at 9:58 AM—two minutes before my shuttle pickup. Ms Annika lied repeatedly, claiming no outage happened and that we never spoke Sunday. Ms Natalie stayed muted, intimidated by her boss. I proposed a fair compromise: give back cash deposit & room charges, which was less than 1/2 night be comped, eventho customary for 1 full night’s refund. She refused, used the cash to settle the bill. No compensation offered"

"You will not be disappointed!! Everyone is very polite, happy to see you at any hour, and will get you whatever you need. The food is excellent at all the restaurants. The rooms are clean and the beach view is amazing. Even on red flag days we had a great time. And the entertainment daily as well as nightly is well planned."
