Housed in a Gothic revival building in the heart of Exeter, this award-winning museum showcases a range of displays from around the world.

Walk the halls of the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery (RAMM) and admire a fantastic range of collections. Learn the local history of Exeter through antiques and archeology and then branch out to the rest of the world through displays on world culture. See exhibits on zoology, geology and botany to explore the natural history of the world. Admire galleries of fine and decorative art from different periods of human history.

See over 5,000 items exploring the social and industrial history of Exeter, dating from the mid-17th century to the present day. Admire collections of archeology from the Devon area, which has been populated for at least 350,000 years.

Explore the collections themed around ethnography and world culture, including African carvings and metalwork, Aztec clay stamps and Japanese lacquerware. Visit the world archeology sections to see finds from the ancient civilizations of the Romans, Greeks, Egyptians and more. Try on replica helmets in the exhibits interactive section.

View natural history displays from across the world. The museum houses zoological specimens from Antarctica to the Arctic, through the Antipodes, the Americas, Asia, Africa and Europe. See many thousands of invertebrates, insects, sea creatures, birds and mammals. The geology collections include over 40,000 fossils, rocks and minerals, mammoth tusks and ichthyosaur skeletons.

Admire over 8,000 objects comprising the fine art collection, including paintings, watercolors, drawings, prints and sculpture. A large collection of portraiture and landscape paintings focuses on local and national artists. See the collections of decorative art, which includes many examples of clocks and watches, Exeter silverware, ceramics and glassware. Find displays on costumes and textiles that have been collected over 140 years.

The Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery is free to visit and is located in Exeter town center. The museum closes on Mondays and bank holidays.
