"Fantastic boutique hotel in a prime location! Location: Super convenient—less than a 10-minute walk to Central Station. Airport Access: Quick and easy connection; the express train to Schiphol Airport takes only 18 minutes. Within 15 minutes walking distance to main attactions like Market Hall and Cube House, bridge. Overall Vibe: The James is a lovely, stylish boutique hotel with a fantastic atmosphere. They provide body/shampoo wash but no conditioner."

"Staying on a beautifully preserved cruise liner built nearly 70 years ago was a unique experience for me. We really enjoyed it! However, the hotel owners perhaps went a bit overboard in trying to recreate a 1960s atmosphere in the cabins. The furniture isn't particularly comfortable. We were especially disappointed by the bed setup: two separate twin-size mattresses were placed on a king-size frame, topped with two twin-size mattress toppers. The whole arrangement kept shifting apart during the night, so we had to wake up and readjust it. But overall, we were left with a very good impression. A spacious and clean cabin, friendly and helpful staff, a very good breakfast at a reasonable price, convenient shuttle transportation and free parking in a spacious lot."

"Central location, close to shopping, restaurants, and public transportation. Included breakfasts were very good. There was construction of the street out front of the hotel, but it did not impact the quietness of the rooms. For North Americans travelling in Europe, be aware the are not mini fridges in most hotels."

"We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. We were pleased with our room - it faced away from the road so the only noises we were disturbed by were from other guests. The hotel was in a good location, and it was easy to get from the station. We had breakfast at the hotel, but as a vegan I was little disappointed in the options, and would also have appreciated if there were clear labels to say what was vegan/any allergens."

"The room was quite large with unusual tall roof; it was like a studio: large sofa; desk; chair, fridge, kettle; coffee machine (with coffee pods and tea bags). The staff were helpful and the price was reasonable. Excellent!"
