"We had a beautiful weekend and it is such a lovely property with an INCREDIBLE restaurant and winery -- sampled some of their wines and they were all amazing. The only issue is that the room was a bit dated -- not enough plugs and we couldn't figure out how to get the heat working so it was rather cold when we got up in the morning and the kettle blew part of the electricity to room when we plugged it in, but it wasn't that big of a deal as we just adapted and went out for the morning coffee. Can't say enough about the friendliness and hospitality of the staff, they were incredibly responsive. And it was just a joy to walk down to the lake and watch the sunset. I want to go back!!"

"The hotel is very old school charm staff where super friendly and helpful the food at the hotel pub was delish . If you’re looking for a 5 star modern hotel this is not for you .I was just there one night and it was very reasonable with basic complimentary breakfast so couldn’t beat the price . Room was clean but hotel is very dated , walls are paper thin I could hear the fellow in room beside me snoring if you don’t mind that .. and the location is very convenient within walking distance to everything downtown .. I would stay again based on that .."

"The Ben Miller Inn is an 1880's woollen mill set in a beautiful wooded area with hiking trails all around. This time of year the maple trees put on a beautiful display of colour. We stayed 2 nights while attending a family wedding on the property. Check in was friendly and efficient. They give you 3 actual keys to open your building (there are several), your room and the pool area. The locks are old and it takes a bit of patience to get them to work properly but they do the job. Our room was spacious and well appointed, with a whirlpool bath, king sized bed and a huge window overlooking the river. There was no safe, which would have been nice and the furnishings were a bit worn. New drapes and some new artwork would have spiffed things up at minimal cost. There's a very large, very clean indoor pool you can probably have to yourself. It was well maintained but the same could not be said of the plant display at the top of the stairs - one large plant was completely dead and another was on its way out. Removing them would be a big improvement. We ate dinner in the dining room one evening and had a very positive experience. The server was friendly, helpful and experienced. The menu was quite varied with reasonably priced entrees. Food was done perfectly and their wedgie potatoes were the best I've had anywhere. Little candles on the tables provided a little ambiance along with the beamed ceilings and stonework ."
