"Parking was plentiful and within a locked gate; safety features much appreciated. The evening, dinner buffet and breakfast buffet was plentiful in choices and the staff around the hotel was wonderful."
"Cute old hotel in close walking relation to the train station, many restaurants and the castle. The hotel is old and it shows but that is what we were expecting in this quaint town outside of Rome. The staff are so very friendly and helpful and the included breakfast was fresh and good. Well worth the nominal charge for the night. "
"This was probably the cleanest hotel I’ve stayed at in years. The staff gave me a full game plan of seeing Rome with a map and all. I had a beautiful wraparound balcony that had a full view of the train station. The train station is about 12 paces from the front door and coffee at the station bar each morning was truly delightful. It gives boutique without compromising the cleanliness you expect with a daily maid service. It’s about 30 mins via train to the center of Rome but also only 2 train stops to the Lake and castle that has views that can’t be captured on camera. I took daily content photos and videos walking down the staircase lined with flowers and plants. The AC worked fine but Italy in late April doesn’t really need it especially with the shutters down in the day. Of 10 days I used it twice. The WiFi was great and I attempted to turn on the tv once but gave up only because it would honestly disrupt the peace and sleep I got. If you want to stay near Rome but have the privacy and intimacy of staying in a small town, this is the place for you. One euro, 20-30 mins on a scenic train with chargers and your in central Rome. "
"I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately it feels less like a hotel and more like a time capsule… and not in a charming, vintage way.
Let’s start with the room: the walls look like they’ve gone a few rounds with a moving company—scuffed, marked, and clearly overdue for a fresh coat of paint. The TV is so small I’ve seen larger screens on desktop monitors, which made relaxing in the evening a bit of a squinting exercise.
Now, the real entertainment: the symphony of noise. Every time the air conditioning or fans shut off, they make sounds dramatic enough to suggest the building itself is reconsidering its life choices. Not exactly the peaceful getaway one hopes for.
Outside doesn’t fare much better. The garden area seems to have entered a “survival of the fittest” competition, with weeds winning by a landslide. It gives the impression that maintenance might be more of a concept than an actual practice here.
And while location can sometimes make up for shortcomings… that’s not the case here. It’s just another challenge added to the list.
All humor aside, this place has potential—but it’s currently being overshadowed by a noticeable lack of care. A little investment in upkeep, aesthetics, and basic maintenance would go a long way. Because right now, it feels like a runaway train heading straight toward declining reviews and even faster-declining occupancy.
Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend staying here"
