We've stayed at several Holiday Inn Express Hotels over the years and it's one of my go-tos because they are normally reasonably priced for what you get and they are all pretty consistent. The staff was nice and very accommodating when I asked to have a high room (only 3 floors). However the ride up was a little nerve wracking. The elevator sounds and feels like it's going to breakdown or drop mid ride. We almost took the stairs a couple of times. Then the room itself just smelled awful. A combination of wet carpet and feet smell. The hallway to the room didn't smell much better either.
