Rent a kayak or canoe for a journey down the Hitchcock Creek Blue Trail. The 14-mile (22.5-kilometer) trip starts in Rockingham and passes through a white cedar forest on its way to the Pee Dee River. The museum is housed in a former railroad depot that dates back to 1900. Tour the House of the Horseshoe, a historic home built in 1772. The building was the location of a skirmish during the American Revolutionary War.
