"—poor signage at back of hotel, trundled my luggage up the wheelchair ramp only to find a sign saying this was a private entrance, go around to the front - where there were only stairs, no ramp. This despite website promises of handicap accessibility. I pointed out the problem to the front desk person and he said “There IS a sign.” But you can only know that by getting close to the back door. By then you’ve wasted a lot of effort.
—front desk guy was unhelpful. Had to be asked to help with the luggage, was unapologetic about the back door signage, and when advised of a problem with the TV
said, “oh, just play with it. I’ll make a note in the system and Maintenance will be by tomorrow to have a look.” No help when the NBA championship is that same night.
—electrical outlets were loose - and therefore unsafe; both my phone charger and CPAP machine plugs kept falling out. windows were dirty. No drinking glasses in the room. Paint chipped around window and door frames.
—no housekeeping and no offer to provide service on request. one lone Kleenex left in box; toilet paper ran low, with replacement stowed out of sight/reach in closet.
—too bad the property eliminated the breakfast (many travel sites still list it).
On the plus side:
—Keeta (sp?) helped us get our luggage to the car; very friendly and helpful.
—excellent location
—room was generally quiet though at times we could hear activity directly above us
—paint colors and furnishings were beautiful"
"The rooms and amenities were great. I was not aware that there is a parking charge. While the hotel is very nice, some amenities should be clearly explained on your websight."
"I stayed for 2 nights for business. I first noticed that the area the hotel is located in is pretty sketchy. Once inside, it looks nice. When I got to my room"
"Had a wonderful stay at LaQuinta Inn by Windam in Utica. Very nice room with all of the amenities I wanted at a great price. Staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was great and there were several restaurants close by with Applebees right next door. Would definitely stay there again."
