Riviera Maya hotel rooms a the Rusticae

"This was our first time staying at the Barcelo Maya Riviera. We're happy to say that it exceeded our expectations. The staff are so kind, friendly and accommodating. Pool and beach access are very easy. The areas are very well kept and clean. We were so impressed with the cleanliness of the resort and its grounds. Well done! Our room was beautiful and room service was excellent. Our ocean view room was on the second floor, which was not the best as we were not high enough. Aim to reserve on the third or fourth floor if this is important to you. Typically there are no dinner buffets, only breakfast and lunch. Make your dinner reservations as soon as you check-in as times fill-up very quickly. The 4 restaurants on site are excellent. Very well done, and architecturally beautiful. Not worth leaving the resort to venture out to the adjacent Barcelos. This is the best one. The mall is mediocre. We tried the Uspa, and loved it. Highly recommend. We will be back!"

"The grounds were lush and green with creatures roaming throughout. Pools were great, ample food options but challenging to get into the more desirable restaurants. The buffets were better than others I've had at all inclusuves. Location adjacent to Xcaret was a plus and easily walkable for park activities. I had a great short massage in the spa. The kids loved it! "

"The staff were pretty consistently rude for most of the week we were there. When we would ask for food at restaurants where they were serving at buffets they were consistently rude or acted like we were annoying them or like they didn’t want to be there. It was pretty shocking considering what we paid to be there. We wondered if they were treating us that way because we were Mexican-American and not White. No matter the reason, it was not OK. If you’re looking for a beach, this is not the place for you. The beach is very small, most of it is Rocky, and there was lots of sarga while we were there. We most definitely will never return here."

"Room was a disaster. Drains in room did not work called for service everyday I was there. The drain in sink was fixed day 3 along with the shower handheld component. However, shower drain never was fixed and we had a flood in the room that reached out to the beds. My kids were showering and didn’t realize that it was overflowing on the fourth day. We called to complain someone came out and tested and said it was fine. I was told it was fixed so the fifth day they didn’t pay attention to it assuming it was fixed. Well, it certainly was not and just a bad flood all over again. The hotel did not want to compensate us in any way. "

"My wife, kids, and I just got back from a weeks saty at Kantenah Family Selection. This was our first time at this resort. Our expectations were far exceeded. The property is beaautiful and so well kept up. The staff is always working hard to keep this place beautiful. I would have to say the best part of our trip was the excellent service. The staff was so kind and accomodating. They really go out of thier way to make your stay memorable. We plan to come back as soon as we can."
