"The food was amazing! The check-in staff did not have our room and tried to sell us on an upgrade which was really a downgrade. We were supposed to have an ocean view, that’s what I booked. They had to put us back and not in the type/style of room I wanted and booked. The other staff were great! They were happy to help with whatever you needed. The place is not kept up. The ocean pool was awful, the a/c broke in the big restaurant one day, the ac didn’t work well in either room we were in and smelled moldy in our first room. The canals that weave through the property are not maintained, The grand entrance of TRS is all boxed and boarded up with no middle courtyard to see. I’m assuming a fountain or something should be there. it just seems like there was way more things that needed done then staff to do them. There was feet of seaweed on the beach, which made it unusable. We weee most disappointed by this! Apparently this time of year it’s common there. But I did not find anywhere any mention of it. It would have been nice to know because we would have went north instead of south of Cancun! We went to Colonial and White Sands often. They are connected and included. Both seemed better maintained then TRS."
