Barceló Maya Palace - All Inclusive

8/10 Good

"Loved the properties, food was great, staff was good , with the exception receptionists. They don’t do a good job in explaining what amenities you can use, what restaurants ( buffets) are where and times. When I arrived. My room was not ready. They said between 2 and 3. Finally at 3 they said it was ready. When we arrived at the room , it was not ready. We waited till 3:40 outside the room till it was finished. Mind you it was hot and super humid and had an early flight. Also they did not say we could wait at one of the launches. Another problem was paying the federal tax that is not included in the your initial payment. We had to pay extra ( it wasn’t much about 10 dollars more because they did not calculate it right. No problem. At the checkout they tried charging us the fed tax again, good thing my husband had the confirmation. They did not had that transaction in record. I’m overall I would stay again knowing all this information. It’s a great resort with great amenities. Good was great."

"The property is amazingly beautiful, clean and HUGE! Be ready to walk. The walk is beautiful every where you go so you don’t feel like you are getting in 5 miles a day but I did! The food is good comparable to other places I have stayed in Mexico. The inclusion of ALL parks is the draw and you will want to do them all. I suggest you prioritize according to your group as the Xenotes is a little more demanding especially if you are traveling with smaller children or Grandparents. Xel-Há is for everyone and you can do as much or as little as you want there. The food there was excellent and easy to get in and out. Be sure to take advantage of the Xelfies on all of the properties. I wish I had done more as the package you can purchase at the end of your stay is very reasonable. We had an amazing vacation there and I would go back."

"Food was great, property was clean, staff were helpful and kind, showers are fantastic, and we would go back with the following knowledge- Distance- this property is large and many rooms are a solid 1/2 mile walk to the main food and amenities. We had to get a new room for my 85 year old mother who could not walk that far. The rest of us just got blisters. Shuttles are available but wait is often more than 20 minutes. Staff worked hard to accommodate my mothers mobility limits Air conditioning- was substandard in buildings on top floor. A/C on first floor rooms seemed much more functional"

"Everything from check-in to check-out was excellent. We could not have asked for a better experience. Francisco at check-in was great, as was Juan at check-out. Efrain with VIP services was helpful and made our stay better. Alexandria was our concierge and she made sure we had everything we needed, from room maintenance to making reservations for dinner at the Japanese hibachi experience. Luisa from the Spa made reservations for us for some relaxing massages, and Carmen and Luz were excellent at those massages. Food was 10/10. Everything we got to eat, and the restaurants we got to try were delicious. The entire staff was so pleasant and made sure our stay was going well. I could not speak more highly of the entire staff and time we were there."
