Que demander de mieux à Rio?

Très belle maison jaune style Liberty sur les hauteurs de Santa Thérèsa.Le service est attentionné,le confort optimal. Belle piscine bien exposée à disposition. Petit déjeuner dans l’ancienne véranda. Taxi immédiatement disponible sur demande et très bons restaurants à proximité.

Lugar é espetacular. Praticamente eu entro em pelo menos uns 200hoteis por ano, esse está na minha lista VIP. Lugar tranquilo, elegante,vista apaixonante da cidade, atendimento acima das expectativas. Cama confortável, chuveiro ótimo, limpeza excelente. Internet para quem esta a trabalho ficou devendo. Mais de um modo geral, voltaria com certeza para ir na piscina e tomar o cafe d.manha. Parabens...

Un petit coin de paradis dans cette immense ville, nous avons pu apprécier le réveil avec le chant des oiseaux exotiques et la visite de petits singes à la fenêtre de l'hotel. Nous avons été très satisfait de l'attention qui nous a été portée. (Prise en charge personnalisée) Nous recommandons grandement cet établissement!

O chalé é ótimo, perto da piscina...poderia ter uma TV, mas talvez seja intenção deles este quarto ser um ambiente mais intimista. No momento da minha chegada, o staff estava trabalhando para resolver um problema com cheiro de cigarro, ocasionado pelo hospede anterior, que fumou no banheiro, o que não é permitido pela casa. Apesar de não ser culpa do Hotel, deixaram a confirmação da reserva para nossa confirmação.

Charming boutique casa with nice views of Rio!

Lovely old building, with lots of character. Admittedly the condition is slightly dated, but is part of the charm! Marianne was very helpful, explaining the local area and arranging a taxi for us. Bedroom very spacious and the pool area overlooking the city is brilliant! Santa Teresa is a cool neighbourhood too. Would recommend.

Super cosy hotel in Santa Theresa

We stayed at this lovley house for three days, and it was a really unique experience. The host (and the staff) treated us like friends and we really felt more like we lived in the house, rather than in a hotel. The room and the house were clean and neat. Great to cool down in the pool after a long day. The food was not that great, so I recommend eating out. Breakfast was OK. Santa Theresa is a viberat and cool neigbourhood and this is just a five minute walk from the «main» street.

Hotel bien placé, original et tres chic

Séjour agreable Organisation et service ok Marianne nous a accueillies et elle est tres agreable Et serviable ...parfait ! En revanche déport avec Suzanne plutôt décevant,elle ne nous a pas raccompagnées et encore moins aidées pour les valises....et le comble elle ne s'est meme pas levée de son siège. Départ avec toutes les valises et sacs seules ...jusqu'au taxi ...! Incroyable !!

A EVITER le vendredi et le samedi ( impossible de dormir avant 4H du mat ) car hotel proche du quartier de LAPA sinon chambre agréable mais il faut aimer le style ancien........par ex .......pas de possibilité de changer la température de l'eau de la douche sans intervention d un technicien.

Beautiful bohemian getaway

The staff are lovely and were very helpful in helping me organise my day. The hotel is remote so be prepared for taxi/bus expenses to get anywhere. My only negative is the loud music from the restaurant on the Friday night - the music reverberates through the walls so I was kept awake. And there is a buzzer on the lift that can be heard very loudly in the room I was staying in. Both these things contributed to a very bad nights sleep. However the breakfast is delicious and WiFi is good.

Can't call it exactly a hotel, but it's charming

Of course, you could call it bad luck, but when I arrived in 7:30pm from a 20-hour journey, there was no water in the hotel (until 6:10am the next morning) and 30 minutes later the hotel was left without internet too - until next evening. Unbelievably bad experience in that sense... Adding the unbelievably noisy air conditioner and the fact you could here all sounds from the connected room (you can guess what they were, even though I wonder how could one engage in s*x in a hot summer night when you don't even have water), you could call this a nightmare - but in the end I don't remember it like this 2-3 weeks later... And that's because this place is unique. Located in a late 18th century house, built on a very steep slope, you enter Casa Amarelo through a long corridor dug in the rock, from where you enter an early 20th century Swiss elevator, which takes you to the reception floor. From there you have access to the rooms, which are located on several levels accessible by outdoor stairs. The view to downtown Rio is great (no view to Christ the Redeemer statue, though) and the neighbourhood is old, quiet and charming - and also safe. I am not sure if I want to stay in this exact hotel again due to the level of comfort, but I definitely don't regret being there once, because it's an experience you can't have in a normal hotel. Would definitely recommend it for a short stay, but for more than 2 nights - no.

Unique and one of a kind experience in Rio

This hotel is magical. The architecture, subtle design choices, grounds and unique art choices blend in beutifully with the age and era of this grand house. All the guest rooms are individually designed with great care to ensure guest comfort. You get the feeling you are the only guests in this small boutique hotel. The staff is eager to assist you in a dignified and elegant manner. couple of small details could be improved. The quality of breads served for breakfast could be improved and housekeeping could be a little more thorough in ensuring dust is cleared from the rooms. Other than that this hotel experience is top notch, unique and I was thrilled with my stay!

lovely place in great area for a night out

I only staid there for one night but the staff was very helpful and chilled out( what to visit, airport transfer etc...) the room had a fair size and was clean. this house is very nice with a good interior design.

Romantic hotel but in an unsafe area and bad info

The Hotel looks fine and nice building but the information you get there is not convincing. They recommend Metro station Cinelandia which is very long way and I found out myself to take bus to Gloria metro which is most nearby. The price for breakfast is high (+40 reias pr. prs.) and you must have complete dish to have some bread - then they charge 10% ekstra for service. They claim its a "safe area" though this place is well known for one of the most criminal places as I was told by local people and was also written in my guide. Their wireless signal is very bad quality and could have been done well for very low budget (words from IT manager) The Hotel looks historical and romantic with nice garden but I dont understand its 4 stars - It should have max 3 stars.
