"We stayed in the family Villa #2, with our daughter. It was a nice place and we enjoyed the separate sleeping room front he family room and kitchen area. The location is fairly far from La Fortuna, which if you plan strategically, can be a real advantage for your stay. We ended up booking most of our activities around the hotel area, and only venturing into La Fortuna for one evening. We enjoyed the Hanging Bridges, LaRoca Canyoning, Sky Adventures, Arenal 1968 Trail, and had a wonderful time. I would say the views from our place were just ok, not the dramatic views that you see on their website. We had more of a jungle view than we did a Volcano view, though if you looked out the window in the right way, you could see it. The included breakfast was nice, though it was a drive to get there. No way to really walk there - it’s incredibly steep road that would be dangerous to be walking on at that time of day. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and everyone there was very nice and accommodating. "

"We didn’t stay long. We had a reservation for two nights, but decided to move on after the first. We had booked a tour and left early in the morning, but decided not to come back and to move on to our next destination instead. The staff was kind, but it wasn’t really what we were expecting or perhaps what we are used to.. it had more of a feel of a retreat than a hotel. Long shared tables in the dining room and very basic rooms. Can’t really say anything bad about the place, just not what we expected. Definitely would have needed s coffee maker in the room however as I wake up at 4:30 am and need coffee."

"Excellent resort situated in an incredible rainforest setting. We are a family of four (kids aged 6 and 8) and everything about our stay at The Lost Iguana was better than expected. The resort is close to all the key attractions in the area, yet tucked away in a tranquil rainforest. We saw countless birds and heard howler monkeys right off our balcony. At night, you can see various types of frogs including red eye tree frogs around the property. This is a a real gem of a resort and one that my family and I cannot wait to come back k to visit. "

"Don't hesitate,this place is amazing. We stayed in the 3 bed/3bath villa with a private pool. The pool was heated and so warm that we stayed in it for hours. The sunset view can't be beat better than any ocean view we've had. There were many different birds all day long. The beds were comfortable and there was so much room. The master suite was giant with a double sink and jacuzzi. The other two bedrooms and baths were off the kitchen and living room area and private. Don't hesitate--we wished we'd stayed here a week. Oh and breakfast was good, but go to the restaurant next door for a wonderful dinner. It doesn't look like it from the outside, but it has a wonderful view of the canopy from their outside eating area and the food was so good. "

"The food and drink are amazing! It is a beautiful setting over looking the lake. They have their own farm on sight and we were able to visit the animals--including baby pigs and horse. Highly recommend!"
