"We loved this property. The owners obviously have an eye for decor as it is a really stylish place and beautifully finished. We loved how peaceful the property was and the owners had thought of everything . We really appreciated the tea, coffee and milk after a 5 hour drive and the muffins, biscuits and crisps were a lovely touch. All the information you needed was in a folder and we visited lots of the places recommenced in it. It’s a fantastic property and we hope to stay there again."

"Elm tree cottage was the best stay I’ve had in Yorkshire , I visit often and by far the best place I’ve stayed the hosts were lovely and kind and was great to chat too! The location was perfect in a cute little village on a farm close to Thirsk and an easy drive to York. Providing the essentials for cooking and a cozy little cottage too! Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning in the future! "

"Clean rooms, helpful, friendly staff, great location"

"The hotel has a modern/hip vibe, starting with the lobby which is centered around the bar that also serves as the check-in desk. This is where breakfast is served. The room was modern, well maintained and functional, but a little tight on space for 2-people with large suitcases. There is no closet or draws (a few coat-hooks) and so plan to live out of your suitcases. It is well located a short distance from the Shambles, Minster and other attractions. It is also close to many shops, pubs, a restaurants. Overall, it was a good choice. One thing that we didn't like was that the rooms don't have safes and the hotel safe is a room safe located behind the bar. We had passports and valuables in zip-lock bags, to which thay added a sticky-note with our room number on and didn't provide us with a receipt."

"We really enjoyed our stay. The location was great, near to Yarm and Preston Park Museum. Also it was only half an hour's drive to Saltburn by the Sea. Everything was lovely, breakfast, room, staff etc, but the Health Spa was amazing and we enjoyed every minute of it!"

"Absolutely loved staying here, all the staff were lovely , really friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and had everything we needed, we especially loved sitting in the bay window watching the world go by. The hotel was situated in the perfect place 2 minutes from the river , 7mins from the centre and the street was lovely and quiet at night, we came in the train and it was a 10 minute walk from there so perfect all round. We will definitely return 😀"
