We had a great stay at Akelarre Hotel and found its location to be perfect for our travel needs while exploring the area. The rooms are clean and well maintained. Guests with walking disabilities or carrying heavy luggage need to be aware thar Mr. Alfonso was very helpful, kind and provided us very useful information."

"Hotel has a great breakfast so you dont have to venture out early in the morning. Dinner on the other hand its not very good and you are probably better off eating at a local restaurant. The place is very well kept and clean. The room are nothing fancy but good. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is far enough from the city so you dont deal with the huge crowds but a taxi will be around 10 euros to get there. I would certainly stay there again next time."

"I was the only person staying at this hotel which was a bit disconcerting as it really is in thr middle of nowhere - about 1.3 km off the camino. But it is excellent. The staff could not have been nicer, and more accommodating. Even though i was the only person staying, they still put out the full dinner and breakfast buffet. I was treated like a king! If you want somewhere truly rural, a bit off the camino (i walked back to it the next day in 25 mins), this is an interesting, unique, peaceful place. Tamara who works there cooks, cleans, does reception - everything. She is a star."
