"A charming older property located steps from the Rhine, this hotel was a grandson’s favorite. Within walking distance of the cathedral, the hotel offered the most comfortable beds of our trip. Parking is limited, but free on the street overnight. Breakfast was standard European fare served in a large, well light room. The only negative was accessibility. There is an elevator, but it does not reach the lobby nor breakfast areas."

"I was in Cologne for a 5 night stay with the goal of seeing the city and visiting my German relatives. This hotel was perfectly located and central, my room was comfortable with good air-conditioning and very clean. I was traveling alone and had no concerns for safety and many places to eat were just steps away from the hotel. I had the breakfast one morning - and the service was excellent - the choices for the buffet were typical and enough for me. Although my room window faced the Alter Markt - I had no issue with noise - very well insulated. The front desk staff was helpful and gracious - calling a cab, answering questions, and even helping me to mail a package!"

"Everything was great. This was our second time staying here due to the helpfulness of staff and the great location. The only issue I had this time was a malfunctioning public toilet in the back of the main area near the orders train bridge that made walking through there so, so awful. Luckily, going that way isn’t necessary, but it still probably should have been addressed before it got to that state. Still, I understand not everything can be controlled, and everything else about our trip was perfect. I will return here when I am in Cologne again."
