The proprietors were very kind and made me feel very welcome during my short stay in their country. The bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom were very clean. In the morning I met the friendliest little pup and received a great recommendation for the swimming pool nearby. The area around the hostel was charming and I never felt unsafe or insecure. I’m glad to have stayed here and I will definitely be back next time I stopover in Iceland!
A few days before my arrival I was redirected to another place named Falkinn Guesthouse (it is not listed om Expedia but on Booking). The people of this guesthouse were nice, the location was similar, but the room was really small and not comfortable at all.
Generally I do not llke when a hostel sends you to another hostel shortly before arrival. Reykjavik is full booked so you have no choice. I want to make my own choice on basis of information and images I find on the website of Expedia. 101 Hostel should mention on the Expedia-site that it sends people to other places and provide relevant information.
Such a lovely and cosy place. The owners (and their cutest dog) are amazing, and they make you feel like home there. Perfect place to meet other travelers, and the location couldn't be better. I recommend with big heart.
Very nice, very clean, and met some really nice people. Location couldn't be better if you're looking to explore downtown Reykjavik and all of the restaurants, shops, and bars that the city has to offer!! Very short walk from Bus stop 10, which is where I was able to be picked up/dropped off for all of my tours and airport transports!
Only thing I have to say is MAKE SURE you contact them ahead of time before your stay so they can give you the code to access your room, there is not staff on site 24/7.
Very close to the main shops and attractions of the city, and the shared kitchen and garden are good places to interact with other guests.

Liked: Property conditions & facilities
Disliked: Staff & service, room comfort
I couldn’t sleep - sounds a bit strange but I think the emergency exit lights were too bright? Staff were okay. I was the only one staying in a room of 12. Check out is at 10am.
I stayed in the 6-bed room and it was clean & comfy. The host is super cool & nice. He shared his reco for good local café & restaurants. I booked for 2 days first then extended for another two days.
