"This was a great, reasonably priced hotel with underground parking for our DC visit. The staff was friendly, especially in the dining room. We stopped for a drink most evenings and enjoyed the bar and waitstaff's camaraderie; they remembered us, the couple on a last-minute vacation, even though a corporate event took over the place for a few days. We ate dinner there a few times and found the traditional pub-food menu perfect after a long day of nonstop walking and my unwillingness to take another step (20,000+ steps each day). Breakfast offerings were good, though they poured only half a cup of coffee, which didn't satisfy the first cup of the day. We didn't use the pool area, as the weather was cool and rainy, though it looked like a nice place to relax if the weather had been nice. It was an easy walk down 14th Street to the McPherson Metro station, which we used to get around the city every day. (Stop at the Brown Bag for breakfast and coffee). And local restaurants were easy to access, with a few only 5 minutes down the street. There was much to enjoy in DC, and our home base at the Washington Plaza Hotel was a great location and a pleasant experience."

"It's a new concept of a hotel as a commune of individuals - a new age of hotels IMHO. It is drawing dwellers to a common public space, a type of a hip urban coffee shop with cozy coaches, decor, tables and chairs; with a view of a street; and a free, not-so- bad, coffee. I welcome this change: my room was very small, but enough for me, and a price was very welcome (a credit to the management). I have done all my work in a public space, just outside of my room door. The shower was very nice with two heads - a rain shower, and an adjustable (alas, finally America gets it)) head, it was amazing to soak in after being soaked in a rain, bed is comfortable enough... And the location is hard to beat! All in all, I give it five stars!"

"I stayed here while attending a conference across the street. This was an excellent choice. The staff were very friendly and helpful, my room was ready early, there is a nice coffee shop and Mexican restaurant, there are unique spaces in the lobby to work or just sit. The room I stayed in was clean, it had a hairdryer, iron, great shower, and everything was comfortable. Just bring your own preferred shower products (shampoo, etc.) They only have the handwash and combo shower gel/shampoo on the wall. Great value for the area, I would stay here again. Access to enter the hotel is more on a hill, so you do have to pull your bag up and down it just a bit. I took the train, so I didn't park, but compared to my colleagues who stayed across the street at a chain hotel, and from what I saw at that hotel for the conference, I made the perfect choice! The price when booked early with easy cancellation clause, was over half off the chain hotel."

"The front desk staff has an incredible gift for hospitality. Sabrina was so warm and welcoming to me and every guest. The location is good, the room and bathroom were a little tired - the owners could invest some money on the asset and take care of that front desk staff! They are what make the hotel great."
