Great trip to Holiday Garden at Rasdhoo.
I booked Holiday Gardens after looking at other reviews. Since it had excellent reviews I had high expectations. I was not disappointed with the place, the management or the service. The owner/manager Ahmad and his team are always available, always helpful and prompt and very important always smiling. Since the island is small and only those really interested in snorkelling and diving come one spends a lot of time walking round the island - takes only about 30 mins - or in the hotel between snorkelling, diving or walking about. Met several people who were staying there for periods form 3 days to 2 weeks. All were happy and we had a really friendly group from many countries - India, Germany, Spain. Food can be had a many places on the island but we found that Holiday Garden had excellent food so there was no need for much experimentation. They can prepare local Maldivian food. Seafood and pumpkin made as curries are the staple dishes. We had very nice grilled Red Snapper on the first night and some excellent lobster later on. One needs to discuss the menu with Ahmad in advance as it takes time to get fresh fish. Sometimes their local expert Adam gets the evening catch for everyone to eat. It is always good to get the food prices settled up front right in the beginning after one checks in so there is no heartburn later and one knows what the budget is. We had one organized trip for snorkelling which was guided by Adam. He was helpful, knowledgeable and patient.
