Friends night out at Al Hamra village

A day of relaxation with friends at Al Hamra village went excellent. We were given an early check in and a great location of the room. Service was excellent and great comfort.

We enjoyed a quick weekend getaway here. Haven't been since before covid. Really nice staff and good options for dining. Property is currently being renovated, so some of the areas are in construction. Spacious rooms and beach is close by - loved the Frisky Fox and evening entertainment. Shame to see the Belgian Beer cafe is no longer nearby but everything else good

Lot's of annoying things

On arrival the reception warned me that my room next to the pool would be very noisy, so instead they gave me a room further away. Sound insulation? Apparently no, and the pool bar is open until 2am. The place seems fine at fist glance, but some things start to annoy: wifi didn't work and bathtub doesn't have a plug. And when calling the reception asking about these the phone line "stopped working" without apparent reason, while background and voices in the reception could be heard. Theres no chair for the room's office table. Lighting in the room is very dark. A lot of bird poo in the balcony. They need to pay more attention to the details. Luckily the room was very quiet and it was very easy to get a good sleep. The pool area seemed cozy.

Not Good Value for Money

Whilst the staff were very polite and helpful, there were lots of long wait times for simple items such as an iron for the room, plates and bowls in the restaurant and drinks from the pool bar. Also, the facilities are outdated and in need of maintenance - the bath rail fell off on first use and when they moved us to a second room, one of the door handles fell off. The pool by the beach is very dirty - the furniture has not been cleaned or repaired in a long time. Finally, the food at the buffet is almost inedible. Overall, it is not worth the price and it is not good value for money.

The Stay was good but the check in was terrible. The hotel policy was 3pm check in and I went to check in at 5pm. The room was not ready and took 29 min for the process.

Areas of improvements

Service was bad ! They never pick up the phone on the help desk … The food needs lots of improvements weather breakfast or dinner but the dinner was a disaster !!! The room is not clean, it needs deep cleaning to go back to a neutral place where later the normal cleaning is helpful. Also the flies - you need to find a way to maintain the pest control , flies in the room were too much ! Tooo much

Tilat ja maisemat olivat hienot. Palveluhenkeä sinänsä löytyi, mutta kaikki asiat eivät silti toimineet täysin odotetusti. Mahtava ranta: aktiviteetteja ostettavissa ja kuten itse sanoivat 50 aed on 50 aed ja 15 min on 15 min. Vesi kirkasta, eikä mitään yllätyksiä, uida voi miten paljon haluaa, Aktiviteetit tosin välillä nostatti aaltoja. Aamiainen suhteettoman kallis, ei kuulu hintaan, mutta jääkaappipakastin, mikro ja hella uusilla löytyy huoneesta. Vaikka huoneen varaa kolmelle on lisävuode silti lisämaksullinen ja kaikkia tarvikkeita on vain kahdelle, kolmas kylpypyyhe sentään saatiin, mutta ei kuppeja tai kasvopyyhettä yms., vaikka siis maksettiin lisävuoteesta. Sopiva kilsan kävelymatka kahta kautta kauppakeskukseen, josta löytyy kaikki tarvittava ja enemmänkin. Taksikin vain 7 aed, jos tuli ostettua enemmän. Tämä hotelli näkyy kauas sekä päivällä että erityisesti pimeällä.

Very nice hotel in good location. Room service food was good and affordable. Nice view of pool from room. Not far from al hamra mall and supermarket. Only mishap is false advertising. If you book standard room thy put you in a village about 300 meters from main resort which has the beach and more activities.

Målet var att få värme, sol, se lite av landet samt hälsa på sonen som arbetar som golfvärd/reseledare/researrangörsrepresentant. Fick alla önskemål uppfyllda, dock lite mer regn/moln än önskat. Värt att veta är att det är ett dyrt land, framför allt alkohol. Mkt bra service och alla var vänliga.

Tides turn for the better.

My trip seems like two different trips. The first part was not nice and i did not feel welcomed. Then a miracle happened and the latter part of my trip exceeded all expectations. My friend was having a general discussion one day at the reception and was asked if he is pleased. He expressed his dissatisfaction on a couple of key points. What happened then shows the importance of having the right people in the right place. Accidentally the person asking the questions happened to be the hotel manager and he went in big time to make the latter part of our trip a success. First of all we were moved from the village to the residence which gave us an easier access to all the services. Secondly he upgraded us from 2 separate rooms into one big room with two separate bedrooms so we could spend time together in an easier way. On top of all this he helped me get access to premium wifi which was very important for me. What a gamechanger. Thank you so much!
