"We paid months ahead as with many other accommodations, which we've never had any issues with. This place was hard to find so we called to clarify directions, and we were told if we didn't have a 4x4 that it wasn't possible to get to (which was NOT mentioned on the booking site on Expedia) We were left to scramble and find a place to stay last minute which was inconvenient and cost a lot more. We were also informed we would be given the money back but months later we still haven't seen it. "

"I liked just about everything about Lia. The all adult was starters, room was up to date and comfortable. We had the ocean view which gives you a direct view to the beach and ocean. Bar was awesome and breakfast and outside eating area with beach and ocean behide you was breathtaking. Beds was super comfortable. The only thing I would recommend is better parking for guests. Oh yeah just one block away from main strip of Jaco where there’s shopping, bars, and restaurants. I will definitely be coming back."

"The breakfast was superb with both buffet style and made to order stations despite being the off season. The staff was also wonderful and patient with less than educated Spanish speaking, and they go out of the way to make your stay enjoyable. Just a couple of minor issues with going through the front gate, so keep the hotel phone handy, and we found out that if you have the shower exterior door locked and shut the bedroom door, you've locked yourself out. Take the key with you...."

"This hotel has a fantastic staff, great accommodations, and was a lot of help in making our trip a breeze. Fabian was a huge help in organizing our transportation to and from the San Jose airport. The breakfast is delicious and filling. The pool was in great condition as well as the surrounding chairs and cabanas. Rooms were clean and had cold A/C. The hotel itself is only a couple minute walk to the beach and the main Jaco bar and restaurant strip. It is steps away from a local restaurant, convenience store, and grocery store. Would recommend this hotel to anyone for a short or long term stay while in Jaco!"

"My wife and I spent a week at Hotel Docelunes while studying spanish. Our stay was in the middle of the rainy season, so our experience may not be typical for a high season guest. For several of our nights we were the only guests on property. This does have its pluses, we had the pool to ourselves and parking was never a problem. The downside is that there were almost no amenities. Aside from breakfast in the morning, there is no restaurant service, bar service, and no spa or yoga. Breakfast every day was nice. Plato Tipico with a beans and rice mix, eggs, fresh fruit and coffee. Visiting with our server every morning was very nice. As far as the property is concerned, the gardens are beautiful with tons of flowers, birds, iguana, and from time to time monkeys. We enjoyed sitting pool side and watching the wildlife. Our room was large and very comfortable and the bed was nice. We did have an issues with hot water but after a lesson from the staff on what to turn on when, we were able to take hot showers (Sink faucet on full, then shower on, then sink to 1/4, and leave on while taking a shower). Parking was secure as we were behind a gate with a 24 hour guard. Front desk staff leave before 6. After that, other than the guard, there is no staff on property. If you need something, walk to the small market 100 yards off property or the Soda across the street. I suspect this was a very nice resort 10-15 years ago. With that said, we would stay again."
