"Beautiful, old stone building. View from the front terrace and dining room is looking right at the Cirque de Gavarnie. Great access to hiking trails around this Cirque and also access to hikes into adjacent Cirques. The room was basic and dated, but clean and comfortable, nonetheless. A few oddities like no place to hang a towel, or the hall light didn't turn on when leaving the room (motion sensor was at the elevator end of the hall). Lydia was extremely warm and welcoming and fun to talk with....

One reason for visiting Broto was to take a tour of the mountains, see waterfalls. 2 wks before arrival, hotel had never answered my inquiry about hiring a local service. Somehow fr USA couldn’t locate a locally based service ahead of time online - all were huge tours fr e.g. Barcelona. After my second email, hotel readily answered but the only tour firm they gave me never...
