Excellence Riviera Cancun - Adults Only All Inclusive
6/10 Okay
"Beautiful resort with genuinely warm, attentive staff — but a few things prevented it from living up to its potential.
The room was a real disappointment. For the price point, I expected better: it felt unclean, and the shower and toilet area were particularly off-putting. Check-in was also mishandled — no orientation was offered, and we only discovered the Excellence App by chance. A small but important note for scent-sensitive guests: the lobby diffusers are extremely powerful and may trigger headaches or migraines.
On a high note, the resort handled my vegan dining experience thoughtfully. Every restaurant proactively identified the vegan in our group before seating us — a small gesture that made a genuine difference. That said, the vegan menu options and food labeling still have room to grow, particularly at Fiesta Night and The Kitchen breakfast buffet.
Would I return? Not until the rooms are renovated. But the staff and overall atmosphere are genuinely special — and worth coming back for when the property catches up."
Hotel Marina El Cid Spa & Beach Resort All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"We had an amazing stay! Our room was at Ventus Ha which was new, modern and very clean. The grounds are beautiful and we were able to enjoy pools at all 3 resorts. Dinner reservations were difficult to make however. If we had known that we would have upgraded to Platinum. Otherwise the food was fantastic, staff were friendly, we will definitely be back!"
"I loved my stay so much, I can’t wait to come back. Loved this hotel , food was great and the staff made it fun and enjoyable.
Definitely will stay here again. "
"Get a tractor to clean the seaweed off the beach. Could not enter the water due to the seaweed and there were a few workers shoveling with a pitch fork."
"We just returned yesterday after a one-week stay at the Jungala Hotel and I wanted to give you some tips/thoughts
My family of 3 stayed in room 1855 - no stairs and around the corner from the concierge and the coffee (FREE!) No complaints about the room - it’s stunning! Bring a wine stopper, salt and pepper! Cleaning staff and concierge were fantastic
Restaurants: make resos ahead through concierge on What’s App
Salum - it has a great vibe - very picturesque - plenty of food options you can’t go wrong
Gong - Asian inspired - Lobster roll and Pad Thai were incredible - must try!
Tramonto - ONLY OPEN Thurs-Sun - Italian - Get the fresh pasta made at the table! Burrata is a must-have
Nektar - Beet salad out of this world along with the clay pot for 2 and view of JOYÀ - stunning views and vibe - don’t miss this one!
Havana Moon - live band - dancing - played late 80s - food is good not outstanding
We didn’t make it to The Grill - steakhouse - heard great things ($$$)
Beach: you can’t swim at the beach it’s rocky - bring water shoes if you wish to explore - lots of seaweed/waves
Pools: MUST go to the Beach Club - we were Grand Luxxe so we had access. Not everyone has access - Line-up no later than 9:15am to get a cabana - opens at 10am. This by far was our favourite pool hang - we went almost every day.
Jungala Hotel got the memo! Highly recommend! "
"We loved our stay at Grand Sunset Princess! We stayed in the platinum suite and loved the amenities we had. The staff were extremely attentive and kind -- our drinks were never empty! The spa services were great -- clean and relaxing. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a getaway! "
"Property was beautiful. Beach is small, and you need water shoes in the ocean to save your feet. Staff were friendly, and willing to help. Food was edible but nothing great. Pools were nice, activities were ok. "
"The room was always very clean and smelled very good. Pools were cleaned, but many people hold their seats with towels, so get out there early, or you will have no seats. Mainly in building 1 and the adult pool. On the last day, they got strict and started removing people's stuff from chairs that were used for 1/2 hour or more. "
