This was a great place to take our family. The pools were perfect and the beach was just steps away from our room. The staff were friendly and fun. The housekeeping staff took care of rooms daily and they were exceptionally clean.
From check-in to check-out, everything was outstanding. The staff provided exceptional customer service, the room was beautiful and quiet, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing. Thank you for making my stay so enjoyable!
Also wanna thank Moises Montilla for all his help during my stay. Highly recommend this hotel

This hotel was pretty good. The options for pool and entertainment were very good. The staff and service was also very good. I have been to two hotels in Punta Cana and I didn't like the food in either. I think its just that I don't like how they cook. But they had multiple options to eat in different restaurants.

Rooms and beds are really good. Food not that tasty, and a lot of flies in restaurants, buffet we got sick from it. Amenities pool were nice, check in service was good. Night club, need a good DJ, they have to play more merengue domnican music, 90% is regueton.
The Resort is beautiful, have lots of activities to o during the day. Lots of food but also keep on mind it's not the best food!, The Japanese restaurant was the worst part on our trip because of the food that was salty and the bad service we received.
Rooms were clean every time, you have free drinks also in your fridge, the spa was nice.
hotel overall was great. One of the biggest hotels I have visited. Staff was not the best although there were few very nice people. Food at the buffets was not good but if you get the chance to reserve at the signature restaurants, experience can change. Pool was decent and spa was my favorite place. Rooms are good size and super comfortable.
Please do yourself a favor, do not go there. The rooms are disgusting dirty, moldy curtains, showers, walls and beds. There are cockroaches everywhre even on the beds. The food is okay, eventhough they have diferente restaurants the food is pretty much the same.
Clean well maintain rooms (we had the family room). Entertainment was on point. The food was “ok” with many choices. The staff was helpful and cordial. There was a lot for everyone to enjoy. They only thing I have to point out was that the hotel lacks a checking/out system. They seemed to still doing things by pen and paper which delays both processes and although you have to wait the staff is very apologetic and do everything to be sure they help you as best as they can.
You get what you pay for. There were a little bit of roaches crawling around the main lobby and by the elevator. One of the buffets smelled like raw sewage specially by the entrance. But other than that i mean it was a good stay. We had a really good time and we enjoyed our stay there.
We had a wonderful family vacation at Barcelo Bavaro Palace. The beach is beautiful, the grounds are well maintained, and there are plenty of activities for families of all ages. The golf course was a highlight, and the Premium Level upgrade was worth it for the added conveniences.
The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Several employees went out of their way to make my son with special needs feel special, which meant a great deal to our family.
The property itself is showing its age and would benefit from renovations and modernization. The food was somewhat inconsistent overall, although we particularly enjoyed the Mexican and Italian restaurants. We also experienced an air-conditioning issue in our room that took several visits to resolve, but once addressed it worked well.
Because the resort is very large, additional lighting along some walkways in the evening would be helpful.
Overall, we had a memorable week together as a family and would return, particularly for the beach, golf, family atmosphere, and excellent staff.
This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. We had 5 rooms for 9 guests. Barcelo Bavaro Palace fails in the most basic areas of hospitality: cleanliness, food safety, customer service, communication, and management. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.
The rooms were filthy. The walls were covered in dust, cockroaches were present in multiple rooms, and several electrical outlets were loose, creating a serious safety concern.
The food quality was unacceptable. Fresh food was virtually nonexistent throughout our seven-day stay. Tomatoes, watermelon, and other vegetables were repeatedly reused, and many hot dishes appeared to be reheated and served over multiple days. The smell of spoiled produce was noticeable every morning.
The resort's sanitation standards were equally unacceptable. Vomit remained next to the pool bar overnight without being cleaned, and the beach was covered with excessive seaweed that was left uncleared, making swimming impossible.
The staff demonstrated virtually no customer service skills, and most employees could not communicate in English, making even basic requests frustrating. Management was completely ineffective. After requesting to speak with a manager more than 20 times, I finally met with a senior manager and spent over an hour explaining the numerous issues we encountered. At checkout, I was informed that none of my complaints had ever been documented or communicated, showing a complete lack of accountability.

Overall, the hotel was not very consistent with the service. Food was a hit or miss, housekeeping was good some days and other days dirty towels off the floor were just placed back to reuse the next day. The sports bar consistently had good food and is open 24 hours! The beach was cleaned consistently every morning, it was cleaned of seaweed nicely every morning and night! On occasion, staff was professional and attentive but majority was not. Brandol Ortega was AMAZING and made up for everything that the hotel lacked, he helped with absolutely everything that our family needed, and made traveling with a group of 12 a breeze! In the end, this hotel hosted us for a memorable family vacation but could also improve in a number of areas.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Inconsistent staff, language barriers with most staff, not “all inclusive “ many things had additional charges, poor communication with what to expect as new guests to resort, lots of walking, tons of seaweed on beaches at all times making some water activities unavailable, staff unfamiliar with duties of basic drink refills for meals, food was always plentiful and excellent, loud groundskeeping staff, many areas unclean/not kept up with, inconsistent bar staff, many drink errors on house drinks. Will not return. Brought me, my husband, and 5 teenage children. We were often seen as a party that was too large, many issues accommodating meal seatings
Great vacation destination for the family. With plenty of food choices, drinks, entertainment and relaxation.

Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
Unfortunately the staff there is just working for a paycheck, not to be helpful or even pleasant in any way.
Pool is nice, beach is poorly cleaned from seaweed each night. By 1pm water and beach were full of seaweed. They should attempt to clean throughout the day.
Rooms are no where near the pool. Lots of walking -access to the “train” was also not near the rooms and made it pointless.
Food here was bad, I’ve stayed in a lot of resorts between Punta Cana and Cancun and this was far beyond the worst of all of my stays. Lucky enough we didn’t get sick from it.
A Spectacular Stay at Barceló Bávaro Palace — Made Unforgettable by Brandol Ortega
This is our ninth trip to the Dominican Republic, and we’ve stayed at quite a few resorts over the years — some better than others — but we always find ourselves coming back to this beautiful country. Our first visit to Barceló was 13–14 years ago, and it holds a special place in our hearts for good reason.
This trip, we came with family and friends, and we can honestly say everything has been wonderful. The resort delivers on every front — the atmosphere, the amenities, the food — it’s the kind of place that makes you never want to leave.
But the person who truly elevated our stay to something extraordinary is Brandol Ortega. Without question, the best host we have ever had — not just at Barceló, but across all nine of our Dominican Republic trips combined. His warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care for our group made us feel like VIPs from the moment we arrived. He is the kind of hospitality professional who doesn’t just do his job — he makes memories.
If you’re planning a stay at Barceló Bávaro Palace, we hope you’re lucky enough to have Brandol as your host. He alone is worth coming back for.
Ten out of ten. See you again soon, Barceló! 🌴

This hotel was okay entertainment was good ,the food was terrible! Buffet food had no flavor no salt and pepper everything seemed like it was just steamed with some added color. Pastries was very old and mushy. The fresh sliced fruit were the best . Booking the restaurant was aweful they fine you what was available. Most people don’t speak English and it’s very hard to understand when you need something. They don’t explain during checking and checking out you need to keep tower cards and keys to the rooms we left everything in the room and they wanted to charge us for towels . Hotel concierge was no help they were very rude to us . The beaches were full with seaweeds and was not being cleaned daily. The poop was great ,However the drinks at the swim up bar sucked and the service ! I will not be staying here again! Bad experience.
