Loveley stay on Isabela

Really nice place to stay, very comfortable and the staff are very friendly. The food was excellent. Good advice and booking for tours. Location is a short walk from main centre, a few mins, but that makes it nice and quiet. Close to harbour so easy access from ferry.

Hotel to avoid

we had a booking 18-20 July but couldn’t get there as all flights cancelled. We had 5 hotels Booked and all but this one cancelled without question due to COVID. I offered to change booking to May 2021 but this was refused. I find this unfair as every other hotel on our trip agreed to cancel. They even confirmed that there were no flights so it was impossible to get there. This hotel clearly puts money before people and lacks any humanity. We will be going to the island in 2021 but certainly won’t stay with this establishment.

We LOVED the Wooden House. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, the place was impeccably clean, the food delicious and fresh, they were helpful with cabs and directions. Just. Love love love.

Very cool place to stay. Walking distance to pier and downtown. Great free breakfast. We enjoyed the 2 dinners we had there. Comfortable beds and AC. Loved the sitting area outside our room with the 2 hammocks. Great way to relax after a long, hot day. Staff was very helpful.

Wir verbrachten 3 Nächte in dem sehr schönen Haus, das gut zwischen Hafen, Strand und Dorfzentrum gelegen ist, große Zimmer und Terrassen sowie freundliches und umsichtiges Personal hat. Der Besitzer war jederzeit für Fragen und Auskünfte verfügbar. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt.

Things to consider before you book

The Hotel was quaint and clean. We booked a room with a twin and full bed and received a room with two twins. The room was very small, no room for luggage. I had to jump over my bag to get to the bathroom or door. Our bathroom door was an accordian style door which was not functioning properly and did not close, hence no privacy in the bathroom. I did get to peek into other rooms and they looked larger. Things to consider, this hotel is not in the town. It's a 10-15 minute walk into town. There is only wifi in the common area. The manager was attentive and the property was clean. We used the laundry service and it was very reasonable and quick. I only ate breakfast, it was basic but fine. Having to tell them in advance of dinner plans is a bit of a hassle since we didn't know our plans but I imagine it's a nice option is you don't want to walk into town at night.

I cannot day enough wonderful things about my stay here. The facilities were clean, staff was friendly and food was delicious. I also took advantage of the laundry service which was excellent. Fernando gave me a great tip on where to find a kayaking tour I wanted and was very helpful by putting in a call for our taxi. We really felt at home here.It’s also just a few minutes walk from the ferry.

Great stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Wooden House. It was in a great location relative to the ferry. They have a nice communal area downstairs with tv and games. We liked reading in the hammocks on the second floor. They have snorkel gear available for rent as well as a bar and pool. If you give them enough notice you can get dinner downstairs. We tried the dinner one night and it was delicious and included dessert. Overall really great stay and nice people!

Absolutely great place to stay!

From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the manager, I loved this place. It's a short walk to downtown which makes it very quiet and peaceful. Totally recommend it. Food is great too.

A charming, very quiet and comfortable place. Easy walk into the center of Puerto Villamil. Luis was super helpful with planning trips and everything else. Breakfast was very good.

Great manager. Great place but the noise of the rooms above was difficult to avoid in the morning. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Would recommend but just ask for a room at a floor and perhaps not at the back close to the kitchen

Anlage ok, Zimmer Flop

Das Hotel ist sehr schön gelegen. Die Anlage ist klein, aber ausreichend. Leider war unser Zimmer extrem hellhörig, von allen Seiten einsehbar und die Möbel hatten Jugendherbergscharme. Es stand noch ein Hochbett in der Ecke, das wir dann tatsächlich auch nutzen mussten, weil das Doppelbett so schmal war, dass wir nicht schlafen konnten. Also Anlage, Lage und Service angenehm. aber wegen des Zimmers würden wir hier nicht mehr Urlaub machen.

Wooden House

Easy location from ferry, lovely staff, not luxurious but comfortable and homey. It's clean, safe and friendly. They rent snorkel gear. It's quality equipment. Their breakfast is early but twice we missed it and the accommodated us without asking for it. Food is fresh and comes from organic farm. You must request dinner ahead of time. Check out is also early. Schedule is due to ferry arrival and tour departures.

God mat, mysig miljö och super service

Fantastisk personal, de är trevliga, hjälpsamma, glada och vill väl. Fina och fräscha rum. Framförallt nära till hamnen och snorkling. Frukosten kunde haft fler val men väl värt 18 dollar för en 3 rätters middag på kvällen, kocken är fantastisk!

Ótima opção

Muito Boa opção em Isabela - que é uma ilha bem rústica! Esse hotel acolhedor fica a 5 minutos a pé do Porto de onde chegam os transportes para a ilha e saem os passeios para o mar. Como a ilha é pequena, dá para rodar bastante à pé (para quem gosta de caminhar) a partir do hotel . O café da manhã personalizado é muito bom. O pessoal super gentil. Na primeira noite dormimos em um quarto no térreo perto da cozinha que achamos barulhento (manhã e noite). Pedimos para mudar para o segundo andar e fomos para um quarto ótimo: em cima, com vista pra praia: show!

Best hotel in the Galapagos

I can't say enough great things about this hotel. The location is perfect - just a 5 minute walk from the port and Conche del Perla, and a 7 minute walk into town. The rooms are grounds are extremely clean, with hot water abounding and air conditioning if needed. We had wifi throughout the hotel and in our room, despite reading reviews that it may not be plentiful everywhere. The best part about our stay was the staff. Jose Carlos (the manager) welcomed us warmly when we arrived, and gave us a great overview of the island and tourist options. He checked in with us each morning and evening to genuinely ask about our day, and was always willing to help if we needed anything. When we left the island, we immediately had withdrawls. We are hoping to plan a return trip to the island solely to stay and experience the Wooden House again!

Wonderful hotel in a nice location.

The hotel was very beautiful and kept incredibly clean and tidy. The staff was more accommodating than anywhere I have ever stayed. They helped us plan out activities for each day and had a lot of great information about the island.

hotel cerca del muelle

el hotel esta ubicado cerca del muelle donde se llega, se puede acceder caminando. esta mas alejado del centro pero sin inconvenientes lo podes hacer caminando. (cinco cuadras) hay una calle principal donde se ofrece comida variada y a un precio razonable. la gente del hotel es muy amable y cordial. te reciben con un rico trago de bienvenida.

Beautiful place and great service

Perfect location, walking distance to entry port and to downtown. Nice, clean and comfortable rooms. Really good breakfast to keep you full through the day and box lunchs for early tours. Fernando, the Manager, is a great advisor. He made sure uor stay was the best, provided us with tips and contacts to enjoy out time in Isabela.

Nice hotel close to the Pier

The manager was very welcoming and the rooms were nice and clean. Only complaint is our room was near the kitchen so it was a little noisy and smelled of cooking sometime. Definitely worth the price!
