Commodore Hotel

8/10 Good

"The location of the hotel is excellent and check-in with our Expedia reservation was quick and easy! The Commodore Hotel sits on the main street in Cobh, near where the cruise ships dock, and near the Titanic Museum and tourist information center. We stayed for four nights to be close to family on the island. We were able to find and use on-street parking for our rental car since we were gone most of the daytime hours. The bathroom had been recently refurbished and was the shower had easy-to-see directions for the hot/cold shower faucets. There were two bottles of waters, two muffins, and tea/coffee provided in our room daily. We came back to the hotel each day with the room having been freshened up, waters replaced, and bathroom toiletries replenished too. Our room had a large cabinet for hanging clothes, queen bed & twin bed, desk, bathroom, and small sitting area with 2 chairs and a table. There were only two of us, but had there been three, it would have been quite a large and comfortable space. The television had plenty of stations to use if we wanted to watch it. The only reason I'm giving a 4-star (instead of 5-stars) review is because the hotel is still undergoing renovations and the decor throughout the rooms and hallways is somewhat dated. There are various colors of wallpapers, carpeting, etc. Overall, I would recommend this hotel based on its location, price, and cleanliness!"

Imperial Hotel

"Had high expectations for this hotel but was let down in every way. Checked into room and once opened door we were hit with a horrible smell. As we continued in the room we found out it was coming from a large wet spot on the floor. We notified the front desk and they never came despite saying they would send support. We stayed two nights and brought this up numerous times despite no assistance. The spot continued to stay wet and smell did not go away. Staff very unhelpful and never greeted you as leaving or entering hotel. Parking states its a 5 minute walk but they failed to notify you that construction closed a bridge for the 5 minute walk so it was actually a 10-15 minute walk. This coupled with concerns with lack of service at the bar made this a disappointing stay. Brought up concerns again at checkout and was met with 'oh' and 'someone was supposed to attend to your concerns', not even an apology. Great location but that is only positive."

"Really really impressed by this hotel. The staff were the shinning light form check in, evening meal in the restaurant to the breakfast then check out staff. they were all a pleasure to interact with and a credit to the hotel. The room was large, clean, and well equipped. staying there was a genuine pleasure and i would recommend to any travellers"
