"Excellent location of property with a local French charm. The 09h30 breakfast closure time is rather childish especially on weekends, come on extend the time. Hot water ran out, maybe it was a maintenance problem during my stay...would be awkward if it was permanent. Overall lovely"

"We had a really memorable stay at this beautifully situated hotel. The setting is genuinely special - it feels like something out of The Jungle Book, surrounded by lush greenery with crystal-clear pools that create a relaxing, almost magical atmosphere. The standout for us was the team; the staff were incredibly attentive, warm, and genuinely caring throughout our stay, which made a big difference. The amenities across the resort are exceptional. The “Valley of the Pools” and “Bushbuck Club” are fantastic spaces, catering brilliantly to both families and couples. These areas really elevate the overall experience and give the hotel a unique edge. Where the hotel falls slightly short is in the upkeep of the hotel itself. While it does retain a certain charm and character, it did feel a little dated compared to the standard you might expect. Some of the modern comforts were lacking – the shower pressure was quite weak, a few doors were stiff, and some handles were loo se. The furnishings, although perhaps intended to feel eclectic, came across more as mismatched and slightly out of place rather than thoughtfully styled. Importantly, none of this detracted from our overall enjoyment, and we still had a fantastic stay. However, with some thoughtful investment and modernisation in the rooms, this hotel has the potential to move from a very good 4-star experience to a truly outstanding 5-star destination."

"A few hiccups at the start of my first residence at Sala Beach House could have ended in disaster. But Henk, Thabo ( a great sommelier) and the efforts of the wider Team turned it round. So much so that I booked my next stay before i left for my Daughter and I!"

"I have written a complaint to this property, asking to (1) be put in contact with its owners and (2) ask for a refund - as it is NOT in the state that is being promoted at all... with no luck of decent/acceptable feedback or engagement or response to my requests, basically NO engagement or cooperation at all. I had to leave this property within less than 2 hours of arriving, as I did not feel comfortable to stay there. Of course, this property also does not offer any stay with a refundable option, which is questionable and obvious that it is a questionable operation. This is extremely bad! I have also requested for this property to be removed from the Hotels.com platform, with no such luck or support and my previous reviews have been taken down... which leaves more questions than answers and very disappointing! We were also NOT provided with a King bedded room as was booked even, but a Queen bed - clearly visible in the picture provided, that was a fixable problem, but the rest was unforgivable."
