"Bathroom wasn't clean and room smell like old socks. Pillows extremely uncomfortable. Lots of homeless poeple around the property. Not worth the money I paid for. "

"On the surface, I had a lovely stay. The staff was kind and helpful. The room was serviceable. The location and the price were amazing. However, when I returned home, I woke up the next morning with bed bug bites on my arm. It has been nearly a week since I have returned home and the only bites that have surfaced are the ones that I found following my stay at this hotel. Which leads me to believe that sadly the bites came from my stay at Gateway. I was thinking of staying here again for my next trip to DC, but I will now never stay here again and strongly advise against staying here to anyone else. "

"Breakfast overall is good. The food is pretty standard: eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, and bread. There was only one waitress who was overwhelmed. Our room was clean and nice, and the cleaning staff was good."

"It was a very nice area. The staff were super nice and welcoming. Rooms was okay but definitely needs an update but it’s still good. We had a proble with the sink and maintenance came and fixed it right away. "

"Free parking, clean room, and courteous staff, however, hotel needs mattress and pillows. It was not comfortable to sleep in the bed and the pillows were too soft.I had to use 3! "

"This hotel is newly redecorated and pretty clean and smells good. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There's a convenient Metro bus stop less than a half a block away that can take you straight to the Metro subways taking you into DC so that's a good thing. A couple small negatives to consider, the breakfast is the same thing every single morning with no fresh fruit or anything other than egg pucks and bread products. While the hotel itself is nice, the neighborhood is not one that you should walk around in at night and there's no restaurants other than fast food that you can walk to nearby. "
