Omni Richmond Hotel

8/10 Good

"Believe me, the Omni in Richmond is a wonderful hotel. I’ll just say that if you’re looking for a luxurious top tier level of hotel, it isn’t all the way there. You’ll notice some little things top hotels don’t let slide. The walls are super thin. I felt like I could have a conversation with our neighbors through the wall (without yelling). We were lucky not to hear any nefarious activities going on. Also, the bathroom door had some wear and tear. The windows needed a scrubbing too. No big deal. Just stuff you’d care about if you wanted luxury at its best, which tends to be the Omni brand. My last gripe really is that they don’t have a free parking option. It’s either you park yourself for $35 or valet parks you for $45. So include that in your price if you elect to stay here. Other than that, my goodness - very clean, soft bed, excellent shower pressure, amazing amenities, perfect location, helpful staff. I would recommend to anyone passing through and looking for something really nice to stay in for the night."

"Upon arrival the attendant checking us in never greeted us and gave us the message that we were disturbing her when we asked to check in. There was no conversation about hotel amenities and an annoyed reaction when we asked for a second key. There was vomit on a hallway window sill that got sprayed with cleaner but not cleaned up after at least 1 hour. There was no hot water due to a plumbing leak needing repair. I would have expected an offer of restitution but none made. When I inquired about some kind of discount for the inconvenience of no showers, the reply was there was no manager on duty to issue anything but some kind of points would be issued to a rewards program. I am not interested in any program this Comfort Inn offers for rewards."

"This hotel is very well situated for the Capital and downtown -- it's not a local neighborhood, if that's what you're looking for. The room and bathroom were spacious and soundproofed. The gentleman at check-in and check-out was very polite and helpful. The rooms could use some updating electronically -- more charge points for phones, airpods, etc. would be useful. Would not recommend for a business traveler until they update that aspect, but for a vacation traveler, it was find."

"It seemed to be a nice place we arrived at 10pm got into the room the tv didn’t work went to the counter said there was nothing they can do so I paid to sit in the dark. HORRIBLY HANDLED. No one even came to the room to check and see if it could be fixed. SHAME ON YOU"

"We cycled in and the room was excellent. Sadly the door man did not hold the door open when we arrived or departed with our bicycles and the receptionist did not have a professional response when I rung the bell to find her. However, another receptionist was friendly, and the location was excellent, so I would stay here again. (4 stars)"

"The quality of the hotel does not stand up to the Wyndham name that you expect. The toilet seat was old had deep gashes in it like some body was scratching into it the shower was old and can tell it was of very long use place really can use some updating"
