"The balcony view was beautiful and the room was comfortable. Unfortunately, the lack of A/C with the unseasonably warm weather was a deal breaker. However, the staff was very understanding and gracious and we were able to switch hotels with a full refund. Would still recommend."

"It's a great spot IF you're there for a business trip for a conference at the hotel. It's not within walking distance of the central district and most tourist attractions. It's right next to the Russian Embassy so if you're okay with having armed guards next to you then that's up to you. There's not a lot of options for shops or restaurants within walking distance (ended up getting a room service for a "margherita pizza" but it was just a simple cheese pizza for $30) and, as a single woman traveler, I definitely didn't feel comfortable being out after dark. There was graffiti on local buildings as well as bars over windows on the first floor. The room was odd. Apparently you have to use your key card in a slot in the room to get power to the outlets (only found this out after calling down to the front desk and they sent maintenance up) but then what do you do when you want to charge your phone over night? I ended up unplugging some of the lamps so I didn't have to sleep with the lights on. The TV speakers in the bathroom were blaring (louder than standing in front of the TV) and I couldn't figure out turn it down so I just turned the TV off. Couldn't turn down the temperature in the room so I opened the window and ended up with a wasp in the room (I'm allergic!). The carpets were dirty and stained and the bed was uncomfortable. I had booked for 3 nights and stayed for only 1 with no refund. I could have kept calling front desk for help but it wouldn't have helped me feel safe"
