Really nice hotel. It has a lot of traditional character but hosts nice modern facilities. Very clean with lots of facilities. Great selection of beverages in the room including machine coffee and nice biscuits. The continental breakfast was nice and we didn't order the hot breakfast.

A hotel built in the mid-19th century. It is an icon in the city and is very well preserved. It is not recommended for people who require special acessibility accomodations, as it has not access ramp or elevators. It is very well located, close to shops and other tourist attractions.

Very very large "suite", all very clean, great opening windows for fresh air. Huge bathroom, tiled in character with the "antique"styled room and furniture. Only small niggles - kettle didn't work for tea and the large shower is one of those that floods the floor. Easy parking and pleasant staff. Would stay again.

The room is spacious and comfortable, the bathtub is huge, and there's no need for a jacuzzi. Simple accessories are missing, such as luggage maintenance and organizing tea and coffee. There is a washing machine, which is great.

Victoria's first settlement

Portland is a wonderful place and staying at the Bentinck added to our enjoyment. The rooms are large, well appointed and very comfortable. Staff are very welcoming and great providers of information about the district. Easy walking distance to the beach, harbour and shops round out a great place to stay. Being Victoria's first settemet, the history of the area adds to its charm.
