Celtic Royal Hotel & Spa

6/10 Okay

"Location was great and the room was enormous. Very generous draws and furniture and they went for a mid-century look but it felt like it came from an op shop. The shower was over the bath and would be difficult for an older person. Little by way of shelving in the bathroom. Walls were marked and in some places the carpet worn. While there is a lift there are stairs up and down on each level to get to your room. The curtains were well short of blackout. Overall at 3 star hotel at a 4 star price. Would not go back."

"Only stayed the 1 night for business, but the hotel stands out for its quality all round. Staff were very helpful, rooms all newly furnished and decorated, had a great nights rest. Lovely breakfast served in the morning, was a choice of yoghurt/fresh berries, or a full cooked breakfast or Omlette. The hotel is in the middle of town near to the shops, pubs etc and a short walk downhill to the beach. Would stay again without doubt!"

"Great Location in Town Centre within Castle Walls. Room and bed was Comfortable but could have done with coffee sachets which I did request for second night but didn’t arrive. Showers and toilets very clean on arrival but deteriorated during day and evening. All round great value in Twin Bunk Room. No Parking included so be prepared to search for Parking in Town"

"Was stuck in traffic and called reception to ask about check in-Sharon was an absolute delight, explained me alternative check in process and gave all info through the phone, honestly I could not thank her enough how helpful she was. Lovely girl in the reception the next day talked us through the breakfast and check out procedure. Room was very tidy, great size and extremely clean. There was tv for little entertainment that done the job for my little one. Dining/breakfast area was very modest, breakfast menu had a nice variety and we had some nice toast, coffee and juice whilst waiting. Everything was smooth - they have parking at the back but ai just parked in front as theres two spaces and I knew I will be out by the time restrictions apply (parking from 8 am for one hour without return only). Would definitely come back again!"
