"We were staying one night, breaking up a journey from Potsdam to Calais.
The hotel was excellent for our needs, spacious bedroom, great bathroom and the breakfast was the best we experienced in 9 days in Germany and Belgium.
My only word of caution is that the hotel whilst ideally placed for anyone travelling by train, it is about a 10/15 minute walk from the desirable part or Bielefeld. In fact the approach to the hotel was typified by run down shops and what appeared to be experiencing hard times.
That said we would seek out Steinberger hotels if we are travelling in Germany again"
"Excellent breakfast, and free bottled still & sparkling water available at all times.
The names of the rooms are very misleading. We booked a superior twin room. We questioned whether indeed we had been allocated the correct room, and were told that we had.The room was very small and no tea & coffee making facilities. A very basic room. However. it had a good size bathroom with a nice walk in shower. It also had a small balcony with 1 chair.
We enquired about the next category up - "Privilege" room for our next stay in Hameln. This is a bigger room & does include tea & coffee and bathrobes. But alot more expensive. If you don't mind a smallish room and don't think "superior" just normal, this hotel is located conveniently in walking distance of the town (through the park). And to reiterate the breakfast is really good and the free supply of drinking water was very much appreciated. Especially as we stayed during a heatwave >38°.
NB There isn't any air-conditioning in the hotel. But very few hotels in Hameln have air-conditioning.
The breakfast staff were excellent and friendly and the majority of the receptionists were friendly. But one of the younger female receptions was quite surly. We didn't see or use the sauna or swimming pool."
"Place was clean, easy to check in and overall a great stay for the price that we paid. Can highly recommend the hotel.
We travelled in June 2026, couple, for leisure."
"Great location, steps from the main railway station. Simple rooms, good value.
But their automated check-in is terrible. I have helped design user interfaces (UI) in the travel industry, so I know what I’m talking about. For one, I had to re-enter data that already existed in my booking, or could have been accessed through Expedia, where I booked the room. Then the check-in process got stuck toward the end, and kept asking me if I was bringing pets. I could not escape from that. Fortunately, there was a live person inside, but that would not have helped if the traveler arrived after midnight or whenever the staff leave."
