The location was fantastic. Nice view over the inlet although room was tired with broken dishwasher and a lot of mold outside and in the bathroom. The resort needs a good clean and overhaul

We were welcomed by the receptionist who was very thorough with information regarding our stay. Clean and tidy accommodation. A great location, easy walking distance to the Sunday markets, restaurants and shops. We've stayed here beforehand and we'll definitely stay again.

Excellent location. Many cafes, bars and restaurants on your door step. Staff were very friendly and most helpful. We would definitely stay here when we come back to Port Douglas.

Will continue to say. Love the area, love no kids, love the staff. Brilliant customer service. Cleaniliness rated lower only due to age of selected apartment that we stayed in and the climate (humidity). Sighted other apartments for future stays and these were immaculate. Would recommend property for relaxing holiday to anyone. Thank you very much Club Tropical Resort Port Douglas, wecwill be back.

Our room was on level 3 although the lift stopped at level 2. The website did not advise of this, which is unfortunate for people with mobility limitations. More explicit disability access information required. We did enquire about another room but this was at our added expense…. Room needs re painting and shower needs a proper clean. Otherwise, excellent access to Macrossan St. and cafes, restaurants etc.

Wonderful stay over Easter!! From go to wo it was a pleasurable experience. Gisela sorted out a bungled cruise booking before we had even arrived. And about Gisela, how nice to be greeted by such a lovely personality. A real credit to the industry! All the staff at Club Tropical were great. Communication 2nd to none! The room itself was tired and in need of a coat of paint in the least. However, it was very clean and well appointed, big fridge, beds comfy, lux pillows, and my favourite critique wherever I stay… “The water pressure” It was very good. The studio boasts a huge bathroom! Big bath, separate shower, and the mirror did not fog up…. “Small detail” but I feel worth mentioning! The cooking area is on the spacious balcony, The utensils supplied were adequate for a decent “cook up”. The balcony has metal louvers for privacy and to keep the sun out. We loved relaxing in that space and enjoyed “free tunes” from the courthouse hotel in the evening. We chose a studio overlooking Macrossan Street for “people watching” The music was a bonus…. Especially not having to pay the drink prices that they charge at the courty. Its normally the first pub we go to… no need on this occasion! The location of Club Tropical was fantastic for us, dinning central! On the subject of dinning… A special mention to Salsa bar and grill. Salsa is always fantastic and never disappoints! I am booked elsewhere in port for the next few visits, but will make Club Tropical a priority in the future!

Club tropical was good value for money. Although it was a little run down and outdated, apparently they are about to undertake extensive renos. We went out for the day to find the cleaning staff had left our door ajar after servicing the room, i emailed the management to inform them but got no response which was odd. Other than that it was enjoyable.

Gem in the village

Service from re working from beginning to end simply made us smile! Over and beyond expectations. Some parts of property are getting old, tired and patched but it’s all still functional! Location, parking and the option of self serve laundry facilities, plus a pool, spa and sauna…. Then the service make it an amazing property to stay at :)))

In general I’m happy with my stay but…. And it’s probably due to the crazy wet season we’ve had. mould was visible in the ac vents and walls roof and outside areas. Now please don’t take my negativity as a bad resort because it’s quite a nice place. Just need the sun to come out and hopefully the management will be onto cleaning it up. Oh and there was no fish in the ponds but it looks like there should be.
