Porquerolles hotel rooms a the Independent

"Unfortunately the sauna and pool were broken and not useable when we stayed. However, it is a great location and the staff were all fantastic and it was a really enjoyable stay. The rooms were nice and modern. The location being very central, does allow noise to creep up the floors from celebratory locals but nothing to bad imho."

"The breakfast was comprehensive and included hot items. I purchased it for the three nights I stayed for 15 Euro each day. I paid up front and in hindsight I wish I’d paid by the day. Toulon has some wonderful bakeries open for breakfast, and they aren’t far of a walk from the hotel. I selected the hotel for its location which turned out to be great! The train station and port were short walks away. The staff were welcoming and friendly and spoke English well. I don’t think my room had air conditioning as I tried to get that working on the wall unit but could not. It didn’t matter as I didn’t need it anyway. I was there in early April with very pleasant temperatures. My window also opened to allow a fresh breeze to blow in. Overall I liked the hotel and would book there again! C’est tres bien! "

"Once you get there the hotel is quite clean and modern. It is located on the other side of the train station with under and over passes (many stairs, lift not working) to the station - with luggage not nice. there is absolutely nothing (no restaurants , shops, bars nada) on this side of the tracks so must cross over via stairs and by pass to do anything."

"Hotel advertised a restaurant, but on arrival it was closed, as it apparently is every week from Friday evening, through the entire weekend. A significant issue! Room was basic but pleasant. Bathroom and toilet facilities were very tired, shower leaked, ceiling had seen better days and short on hot water. "

"The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from old town. Parking is available for free and is spacious. The directions to the hotel will bring you to the road that runs right in front of it but you can't access the hotel from it. Better to drive up to it from the direction of a Peugeot dealership that's next to it. The initial impression of the hotel is nice, but once in my room, I noticed the bed sheets stunk of body odor, the towels were poorly washed and dried. They were grey, even though they were supposed to be dry. There was mildew between the tiles, but I've seen worse so I guess I could have lived with that. But the bed linens are a no go."

"The place has a cockroach infestation. I saw one under the bed and another big one crawling on the curtains. It really scared me, The sheets didn’t smell clean, the access is terrible, I will never come back."
