Aminess Liburna Hotel

"The location is the best part of this hotel: only a ten minute walk around the bay with the most breathtaking views of Korcula Old Town. And you really don’t need to spend extra on a balcony with a sea view unless you’re someone who spends a lot of time in your hotel room because you get the views from the communal spaces. Having said that, our room was quite dingy and dated with quite an old, thick carpet on the floor that I didn’t want to walk on bare-footed, so it’s a good job we don’t spend much time in hotel rooms! The bed was comfortable and it was superficially clean but daily cleaning wasn’t very thorough - a dirty cup was left for the three days we were there. Breakfast was good and they very kindly allowed us to order room service in the bar. When I didn’t like a cocktail I’d ordered, they didn’t take it off the bill, which surprised me considering it’s a four star hotel. I’d book again, purely for the location."

"Lovely room with amazing sea views. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Far too many steps for us. From our room there were steps to the bar, Reception, restaurants, pool and beach. We knew there were steps but not quite so many! The beach was beautiful and sun loungers and umbrellas available at a small additional cost. Take beach shoes as a pebble beach. Facilities in room were good however we didn't like the glass door on bathroom which didn't open and close very well. Entertainment was poor. Food choices at buffet reasonable but repetitive. Overall a good hotel but we wouldn't choose to stay there again."

"From September 5th to 15th we vacationed in Croatia—specifically in the town of Podgora—at the lovely Hotel Medora. Our daughter, who lives in California, booked this trip for us. We would like to express our gratitude and warm appreciation to the hotel staff for their care and assistance—especially Zlatan for helping us resolve issues with our car; the reception team for being so attentive and polite regarding our requests; the housekeeping staff for keeping our room spotless; and the restaurant team—the head chef, waiters, and manager—for the incredibly delicious and varied food (hot dishes, cold options, and salads). The desserts were true works of art—everything was incredibly tasty and wholesome. This was our first time vacationing on the Makarska Riviera; The beach was wonderful, featuring crystal-clear seawater, stunning scenery, and excellent, clean facilities. We wish Hotel Medora continued prosperity and business success. "Well located hotel; short walk to Old Town, restaurants and shops. It's an old hotel but quite typical for the area and island. Staff were helpful; breakfast buffet was not that great compared to other hotels on our trip. The hotel was very kind to allow us the use of the pool & showers after check out while we waited for our late afternoon ferry. We would recommend this hotel for a visit to Korcula."
