Budget Hotels in Pleasantville, Atlantic City

"My stay at the Showboat Hotel Atlantic City was extremely disappointing. The hotel only had two elevators operating for a 25-floor building, which caused long waits. To make matters worse, the elevators constantly made an annoying beeping noise, as if an alarm was going off the entire time. The mattress sat directly on a metal bed frame, which made the bed incredibly uncomfortable. It felt more like a temporary setup than a proper hotel bed. The housekeeping staff was also very rude. All I asked for was an extra towel, and the response made it seem like I was asking for something unreasonable. Additionally, the restrooms throughout the building were filthy, which was very concerning from a cleanliness standpoint. What makes this especially frustrating is that the water park and kids’ attractions were actually very nice. The concept of having everything in one place for a family of four could be a huge win. However, despite enjoying the water park, I would never stay in the hotel again. The hotel portion of the property seriously needs to close temporarily and be remodeled. To make matters worse, while riding down an escalator I even had water dripping on me from above—and I can only hope it was rainwater."

"This isn't the Hilton. Who cares. It's safe. It's clean. It's reasonable and close to where ever in Atlantic City. I would absolutely stay here again and def will. "

"It was my first time at this hotel and it was a very nice stay. I only wish that the buffet would’ve been open during the time. I was surprised to know that it only was open more like for the weekends. I enjoy myself I would stay at the front without a hotel again."

"Checked in, bathroom floor had black hairs everywhere. I took a shower, water was not hot and the water backed up in the drain so I was standing in soap scum. I asked house keeping to clean the room and finally by the 3rd time, they cleaned the room. There was a volleyball tournament and cheerleading competition. Teenagers were running around and causing loud noise. I called security twice and they finally addressed it. I would not go back to this hotel."

"My fiancée and I planned a nice weekend in Atlantic City, but our stay at Bally’s was extremely disappointing. When I booked the hotel, I was told it had recently been renovated and the photos online looked nice, so we were excited for the trip. Unfortunately, the reality was very different. We arrived around noon and, since check-in wasn’t until 3 p.m., I paid an early check-in fee. The check-in staff seemed confused about why we were there early. The elevator felt old and rickety, and when we stepped off, the hallway made it clear the hotel had not been updated in decades. The carpet was stained and worn, and the entire floor smelled strongly of marijuana despite no-smoking signs. When we entered our room, we immediately noticed bugs in the bed. We took a picture and went straight back to the front desk. The staff member was rude and dismissive, simply giving us another room without addressing the issue. The second room was not much better. The floors were old and dirty, the bathroom wallpaper was peeling, and the walls were permanently stained yellow. We were also only given one working key. I returned to the front desk and even offered to pay for an upgrade, but was told no rooms were available. Aside from a brief apology, nothing was done to improve the situation. At checkout, when I mentioned our experience again, the employee questioned why we hadn’t done more as customers to resolve the problems. AVOID at all cost!"
