The location was nice, in a gated community. We loved the pool with the slides and the bar. The home was comfortable for our family. We had some issues with check in but luckily it was resolved so confirm the details before arrival.

Would have liked to be further up the mountain. Putt putt golf was disgusting! Remove it! Staff was awesome! Our unit was in need of a coat of paint and a toilet that worked.

Excelente estadía!

Las villas muy limpias, muy bien acondicionadas, se encuentran muy bien ubicadas ya que tienen muchos servicios cerca. La privacidad y la tranquilidad son lo mejor de todo. El campo de minigolf deberían quitarlo o repararlo, se encuentra en muy malas condiciones, ni siquiera la mitad de los hoyos está funcionando. Pero la experiencia fue excelente, definitivamente tengo que volver. Deberían incluir en los comentarios que en las instalaciones tienen un cine, son un factor determinante a la hora de tomar una decisión!

Potential but Lacking

I was disappointed with our stay here. We were only here for one night but I did not realize that this is not a hotel. In fact you can't even get to the residence without being on a list to get past a security guard. The villa we stayed in was not very clean, stains on the pillow, dead spider on the bed, and a sticky toilet seat. At least the air-conditioning worked in every room. Check-out was easy as we were leaving early they just had me leave the keys in the unit. Also there is a washer/dryer which is a plus if we were staying longer. My wife was really not happy with my choice on this one so I would recommend that you find another place to stay.

About what we expected

Acc to reviews, about what we expected. It is not a short walk to Hermosa beach, but we walked it no problem. Rooms are on a steep hill, and difficult to move luggage up and down it (you cannot park right next to the room). My kids had trouble even walking up to the parking lot. Room was older, a spacious 2B,2B condo room with a full kitchen. A/C worked well. Small restaurant was great and even brought the food to our room.

Close to beach and nice property

Had to change room because there were mosquitoes and bad sheets. Guard could not speak English but helped with help from google translate. Nice pool and good food by the bar next to pool

Very nice villa for couple and 1-3 kids.

Overall a good value. Full kitchen allowed for cooking - local market about 1 mile away. Washer / dryer was nice to do clothes and towels. We did not use the maid service. Pool was nice - slide is cool. Only minor thing - some paths were not lighted but we carried small flash light.

Not for short term, great for long term

We had a quick stay over here and I wish we had stayed somewhere else. If we wanted to come back for a longer time this could be a possibility. The pool was not clean. There was no in room wi-fi, but rather you had to go to the pool house. It was very quiet and we never saw any staff at all. It was quiet.

Reconsider on this choice before booking

disappointing for price. Was lacking much, including no toilet paper, no paper towels, no Kleenex, no mattress pads and sheets would not stay on mattress, no fresh towels for second day. We were not told that to get key had to go to a dental office, really! No assistance with luggage, and was a very tedious & dangerous path to get to vela. Very sad experience for quite high price for what it had to offer

El hotel está ubicado en muy buena zona. Tiene acceso a las principales playas de la zona. Solamente un detalles y es que deben de mejorar en la iluminación de los senderos, pues son muy oscuros

Recommend for families

Great gettaway spot. Nice living area. couches were not comfortable but the beds were good. None of the staff speaks english, not the receptionist or anyone. No one works on Sunday at all, so if you plan to stay late Sunday night or till Monday morning they would never know the difference. Overall pool was nice, bar area at pool and slides. 5 people in the house and fit comfortably. Overall for the price, well worth it.

Great Location But Needs TLC

The location of this place is great and you can see that at one time, it was likely fantastic. Currently the place is a little run-down and our villa was a bit dirty and falling apart. When we arrived, the person in the office had terrible difficulty even finding our reservation (even after we gave her the print out). The facilities themselves were not maintained and the mini-golf was totally abandoned (although they had no issue still charging us full fair for a round...and then tried to charge us twice). The pool was fun for the kids though and we loved the nearby beach. We actually had the best night of our whole Costa Rica vacation at the bar/restaurant on the beach which had great live music and world class fish tacos. With some elbow grease and a little investment in maintenance this place could be much better but I would avoid until then.

Great family hotel

The hotel was very nice- it is more of a community with apartments that you can rent. The pool was outstanding with two slides that were fun. The swim up bar was cool as well. The people were nice although it was confusing at first because we had to check in at a dental office not a lobby. There are movies every night at 7:30 and you are only about 1/2-3/4 of a mile from the beach so it was easy to get to. We arrived early but the room was ready anyway so they let us check in. There is a kitchen and a washer/dryer in the room. It was a nice hotel overall.

Villas Hermosa Heights - Disappointment

We rented for a week just after high season. We were assigned Villa #13. The complex was pretty much empty except for some local kids swimming in the pool. We found the complex to be in poor repair reflecting a clear disregard for the customer. The rooms furniture were worn and poorly equipped. The kitchen's functionality was hampered by a lack of basic utensils and dinning ware. The rooms provided usable closet space but no hangers place you clothes. I addressed this with the complex manager and was essentially blown off. Other elements that that we found annoying. The poll maintenance crew firing up gas powered leaf blowers at 5:50 AM, Internet connections required a trip to the pool area. Trash in and around the villas.

Nice family villas

Our family of 5 stayed here for one night, before flying home out of Liberia airport. We arrived earlier than check-in, so our villa was not ready yet, however the registration staff informed us we could hang out by the pool and she'd come find us when it was ready. The grounds were nice, although some things were in need of maintenance - for example, the small "kids" pool/?hot tub up above the main pool had some of the light fixtures loose with wires exposed - we didn't feel safe having our children use it. The water slides were a great hit and the main pool was well maintained. The villas are beautiful and well-equipped - it was nice to have access to a washer and dryer to clean our beach towels. The kitchen amenities were poorly stocked however - since the description of Villas Hermosa states that cookware/dishes/utensils are in all the units, we expected to at least have enough place settings for a family of 4. There were hardly any utensils - something like one fork, a couple of spoons, a couple of butter knives, no paring knife. There was no saucepan/pot, so we had to use a display serving bowl to heat up our pasta in the microwave. The stove seemed not to be functioning properly as it took a very long time for the burner to heat up. Our kids (ages 2, 5 and 9) enjoyed the playground near the entrance - it could be improved by adding a shade structure - the silvery metal slide was in the direct 35C sunlight and therefore too hot for the kids to use.

Villas muy equipadas... no vistas prometidas !

La ubicación es muy estratégica pues se accesa a muchas playas en menos de 20 min en vehículo. Me hospedé en una villa y es claro que tiene todo lo que uno ocupa para estar como en casa (cocina, microondas, menaje,frigo, lavadora/secadora de ropa, a/c). Las instalaciones de uso común me parecen descuidadas en particular el "fitness center" que de 6 máquinas solo una de ellas funciona y que para mí fue decepcionante pues parte de mis términos de búsqueda de hotel incluian gimnasio. El otro punto en contra es que en la pag web da la idea de que si bien uno no está en una villa premium view, pareciera que las instalaciones comunes si tienen, vistas hermosas (por ej la foto de la piscina sin fin con vista al mar) y FUE MUY MALO que al llegar a lugar ver que ningun sitio del hotel excepto dichas habitaciones tienen vista panorámica como lo hace ver la publicidad. Un extra bueno es que admitan mascotas. Para una familia completa es una buena alternativa, para mi que viajo solo con mi mascota o a lo más con otra persona con gustos similares buscaré(mos) otra opción de hotel en el próximo viaje al Pacífico de Guanacaste !
