"We stayed here twice in a week. The rooms were very nice and clean, and the location as well. One of the few good quality accommodations near beruwala. This villa is owned by a very nice family, who were so accommodative, and helped us and we're very flexible. They also prepared good breakfast and provided nice conversation. "We stayed at this hotel for 8 nights. It was our first experience at Sri Lanka. The location of Villa Tara at Hikkaduwa city is optimal - in jungle forest but in ten minutes from the beach also. "We have just returned from a two week stay at this little paradise and can honestly say we loved every second. The villa has everything that you could need, it is safe, well designed, comfortable and clean with a gorgeous outside area that backs directly onto an unspoilt quiet part of the beach. "Beautiful place, great room and bath!! Amazing property and breakfast. A little far from town or any restaurants. Without a form of transportation you have to arrange a tuktuk or walk far to eat dinner or lunch. Would be 5 star if they servered more meals and had a scooter for rent or bicycles "

"We had a great 4 night stay at Ahu Bay. It was nice that Nilanga messaged ahead to discuss arrival time. Having a room right on the beach was a real treat and the private pool was kept spotless by the team. The team couldn’t do more for us during our stay, making adjustments to cocktails to suit ours tastes. We ate at hotel twice and both times really enjoyed the dishes we tried, it’s clear there’s a talented chef in the kitchen! "

"This hotel is chef's kiss. The pool and poolside are brilliantly thought out and massive so you can have a peaceful dip even if it's busy (I went out of season). My riverside room was the perfect way to start every day and the food, even the Western food, is really good. The service is unrivalled, it surpassed my expectations. I would say the hotel's greatest asset is its location in between the river and the sea, where you also you get lots of wildlife. And a 7 minute walk (plus couple of minutes shuttle boat to the town side) to Aluthgama train station. The minute you're out of the town side entrance, you're in the thick of town life but you wouldn't know it from the island oasis the hotel is on. It's walking distance to the Secret Island temple and Bentota Bridge, which are the only things Bentota offers other than beach. I would 100% stay here again and recommend it to everyone who comes to Sri Lanka for a relaxed, luxurious beach holiday. Special shout out to Thilak the boatman and Masheshani on reception, who were both stars. Auic and all who work at Ceylon Club and the pool men."

"The pool and beach setting were incredible, the room was spacious and had nice amenitys, the beds were comfy and balconys had a stunning view. We upgraded to half board when we arrived, breakfast had lots of options, dinner was always really high quality food, however the amount offered did seem to depend on how many people were in the hotel at the time. "

Fantastic stay at a gorgeous hotel

"We had an amazing time at Riff, nothing bad to say about the place. It was extremely comfortable with great service. A fab pool and direct access to the beach. The food was delicious in both the downstairs restaurant and the rooftop restaurant - especially the grilled seafood (lobster and prawns!) and the a la carte breakfast was fantastic. We loved having drinks on the rooftop at sunset every evening, with great views and live music. Felt very spoilt! "
