"We stayed in a standard hotel room on the way to QLD and a larger 1 bedroom apartment with kitchen and lounge-room on the way home. The mattress was more comfortable in larger room. However on the way home, we arrived at 4.30pm and noticed the front door did not open but someone was present at the reception desk. As someone walked out of the hotel, we decided to walk in, thinking there may have been a problem with the doors. The male at the front desk walked up to us and announced “we have now closed” and we explained we were checking in. Then he advised us “thats why we have the lock box bear at the front door”. Very unprofessional, we felt like an inconvenience, he wasnt at all happy but proceeded to get the key out of the lockbox at the front door for us. Very disappointed with his attitude, given we were driving home after the most traumatic time in my life, attending my mothers funeral. The highlight was meeting a lovely couple from the Gold Coast around the corner at the Royal Hotel who we ended up sharing a table with and we had great conversation."

"Lovely location and value for money. The property is a bit dated. My room was lovely with all the comforts, nice bed, bathroom and lovely view. Room service was great."

"This is a nice waterfront mini-resort style hotel. Staff upgraded us upon arrival so we were lucky and had a corner suite overlooking the waterfront. Restaurant is good also. We will be back."

"Very convenient location, clean room, comfortable bed. The manager, Richard was very helpful and gave good information on the room and the area. We had cool evenings and the inverter heat/ac worked perfectly as per simple instructions. Very cosy. The parking spaces were also very spacious, which is rare."

"Great value in the off season, for a one bedroom apartment. Lots of stairs but lots of space. Across the street from Flynns Beach. Clean room and amenities. Own laundry facilities. Gated parking a nice feature too. Uber deliveries to our room not a problem."
