"Everything was incredibly clean and well taken care of. Beds and pillows were comfortable. My only wish is that there was Kleenex in the rooms and a second roll of toilet paper."
"Highly recommend not staying here, as there are much better options for the price. The booking was misleading, as photos made it look like I was booking one of the lakeside condos, but ended up in the poolside area as other reviewers mentioned. This alone wouldn't have been a big deal, but the room was unreasonably hot and humid when I got there, wallpaper was peeling off as other reviews mention, the bed/bedding was very old and uncomfortable, the tub was dirty, and the shower made a high pitched squealing noise the entire time it was on. The deadbolt on the door also wouldn't lock, as the door was misaligned. I ended up checking out early and finding other accommodations for the rest of my stay.
It sounds like many of the rooms/buildings are now owned by a timeshare company, and they have not put any effort into updating or maintaining the rooms."
"Beautiful lakefront property. Enjoyed our one night stay in the Mission Point section. Would request first floor next time in this section if traveling with young children or a senior as there is no elevator. Very nice updated unit overlooking the lake on the 2nd floor with a huge balcony. We enjoyed visiting the smaller beach in the Mission Point section and getting drinks from the indoor bar in the restaurant right next to the beach. We liked exploring all of the different sections and could easily spend several days enjoying all of the different onsite activities.
The Strawberry Ridge section pool could use some updating. The children's wadding pool had a strange color and the whole pool area could use some renovations. The other outdoor pool near the lobby is beautiful, but did not have a wading pool for our little one so we did not use this. Good food onsite. Typical prices for large resorts in northern Minnesota.
Very friendly staff. Looking forward to future stays!"
"On a hot day, late check-in, no air conditioning, instead the baseboard heat was on. Turned the thermostat off but it stayed warm until morning. Very poorly lit premises and hallway/entrance and it stunk like musty smoke. Nothing on the website(s) indicated you have to go a half a block away to check in to get the key, and it would have been very difficult to find that place in the dark had we not randomly run into another guest. There was barely enough shampoo there to wash your hands, and no hot water early in the morning. Not a good way to welcome your guests! After reading other similar reviews one can see for the most part these things are not being addressed! Next time we pass this way we won’t stay here! What a dingy, creepy place!"
"Resort was very nice, quiet and clean. The one thing we did notice was there were a lot of steps to everything….our room, the pool area, the deck area outside the pool to go down by the lake—hard for older people or disabled. Room was very nice and clean!"
