Pine Island hotel rooms a the Independent

"The overall stay was pleasant and the property was clean and well maintained. The pool staff was awesome but the pool itself was too cold to swim in and the pool bar ran out of many items on the busy weekend. This was a bummer as this is the main thing to do at the resort for families. Overall a nice place to stay but these things put s bit of a damper on our spring break get away. Lots of places to eat- this place could be awesome if they worked out a few kinks."

"We loved having the option to sit by the pool or by the beach! We appreciated that the staff set out the chairs daily. The cafe had delicious ice lattes and we enjoyed lunch by the pool. Checkout was easy!"

"Enjoyed our stay there. Excellent staff. The restaurants were good. The pool was a little small for the size of the hotel, and fairly crowded. But there is a secondary pool and facilities across the street. Enjoyed the bicycles. Would go again."

"The room had a dead bug in the restroom and wad of long hair in a clot on the floor. Of our 8 day stay, the cleaning staff only cleaned our room 3 nights, which I was not happy about. We gad to go to the front desk for towels and toilet paper, due to this. For the $2500 price tag, I would expect the service to be provided. Breakfast was decent; the menu only subtlety rotates, but it did have a decent variety. The grounds are dog friendly, which is an extra fee. The hotel doesn't enforce people clean up after their pets...ruins this accommodation for others. Front desk staff was friend."

"Ocean was visible from room. First night found a chunk of a chocolate candy bar in the sheets! Disgusting. Didn’t use the pool, as it was located adjacent to the noisy street and didn’t even allow you to bring a can of beer into the area. The room’s entry door fit so poorly into its frame, it allowed light, wind, and excessive levels of noise directly into the room. Delivery trucks backup alarms wake you daily at 6:30a.m. Drunken guests and street noise keep you awake until 1:30a.m. Hotel maintenance crews feel Midnight until 12:45a.m. Is a good time to run air compressors, power tools and power washers right outside the poorly sound insulated doors. Other than the property’s beach location and a desk worker who stored our bags upon arrival and prior to departure, can’t offer much in the way of positive comments. Stay away from here!"

"Great stay. Easy trip to and from the airport. Super quick and easy check in and out! Nice pool area. Room very clean and comfortable bed. Would stay again as the staff is awesome!"

"This hotel really needs a refresh. It was fine for a couple nights when I was only sleeping there, but it's clear that there are people living there full time and it was pretty run down, with a tiny bathroom that had old fixtures and rust. The room smelled damp and overall it wasn't a great experience. The front desk staff were very friendly though."
