"This property exceeded my expectations. My room was well-lit and it appears the bathroom was recently reno'ed. Bed was comfy. Tv was easy to use. The room is basic, but welcoming. All staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful...and smiling!! Unfortunately I did not have time to use the comp recreational equipment, but that is def something that would cause me to return. While the comp breakfast was minimal, I was very grateful they offered something. I hope they will continue with this as it does give an advantage over other properties. I will say, some very loud pipes (?? Or other???) in the walls during the night. Very loud. Fortunately I eas tired enough that it did mot keep me awake. This property followed through on their 'VIP' extra, though it was extremely minimal at a value of less than $2. (I'm not sure what the obligation is w/Expedia.) I was supposed to get a room upgrade, but not sure if I did as I wouldn't have known the difference... Note, if you're using public transit there is a bus stop directly in front of the hotel, with at least one bus (if not more) to/from the downtown harbour. Suggestions: - kettle inside room please - I would prefer to peel my own hard-boiled eggs, as more hygienic. - it would be great if staff could make the pancakes and replenish as necessary, rather than guests having to make. In summary, I would stay here again and am comfortable recommending this place. "

"Unfortunately there was construction work going on early in The mornings. On the first morning the fire alarm went off 3 times. It was a very poor stay. I was switched to a different room but in the end it was not much different."
