"My wife and I had an incredible and last minute stay for my birthday. I would recommend for those wishing to connect with Thailands diverse nature and people living here or passing through. Its beyond peaceful.... especially if you check out CBD Bar & Bistro, play on the rope swings, or tube down the river!"

"We arrived late at night post checking out the night night market at Surat Thani as check in available until 23.45 :) Please be awake: black elephant boutique and 88 fine hotel are combined. We booked a room in 88 fine hotel and was expecting to sleep in one of the detached rooms as per photos in the booking- however we stayed on the second floor of the black elephant boutique. The stairs are very steep- so would recommend when booking to book first floor if needed! Other than that- room very comfortable- one of th best beds and pillows of this trip so far! Very quiet at night - Couldn't hear the planes or cars. However can hear the people next to us when they are in the bathroom. Coffee and toast with jelly brought to your room at requested time upon check in :). "

Old School Value Option Near Train Station

"Nadpob reminds me of typical backpacker accommodation from the 1990s era. Small but comfortable rooms with fridge, aircon, ceiling fan, hot water. Better quality towels than expected. Bed a little softer than the usual. Friendly check in. Great location on the other side of the tracks from the Surat Thani train station in Phun Phin. Stairs required for some rooms and to cross the pedestrian bridge from the train station. Just down the street from a fairly good night market, with at least one low-key nightlife spot nearby along the riverfront, and several close by choices for coffee and breakfast in the morning. Good value and convenient for catching a train. Had a sign mentioning showers available for 50 baht per person too if not getting a room. Seems related to the nearby Nadpob Station on the other side of the train station area. I liked the very local neighborhood."
