"Beautiful area, of course we're in Austria! Traffic through the Fernepass was atrocious, which is right near Obsteig. Construction was in process across the road from hotel and the trucks that traveled the road all night that our room overlooked were very loud. No A/C so leaving windows open was a must. "Room was clean and comfortable with a great view of the mountains from our balcony. Some parts are a bit dated but they have made upgrades where needed, including the excellent pool and spa facilities. Friendly service from all the staff and an excellent breakfast spread - really enjoyed the fresh squeezed orange juice machine! Location is convenient for driving but is a 15-20 minute walk to central Garmisch. There's a bus stop right outside but it's only hourly (at least in September) so check the schedule."
