"Turned up on the day of the booking. Was advised on their website that someone was there from 1pm till 7pm each day. We got there a little after 2pm. The place was deserted. We rang the bell for CHECK IN as advised on a note on the front door. And waited as instructed in the note. Nothing. No one answered. "I received a very warm welcome for check-in with every question answered in perfect English. I wanted to have dinner but the restaurant lights were ridiculously bright, which is strange for Italy. I chose to dine in the bar and the barman Maurizio was absolutely adorable, attentive and professional. While I was enjoying my dinner , a senior manager happened in and I discussed the lighting with him. He was personally engaged with redesigning the hotel and we enjoyed a lively conversation about the importance of lighting, which was a current project under his guidance. He explained the improvements planned in the next weeks. I complimented him on the exquisite sofas and chairs. Overall, a lovely first experience that I will likely repeat. "
