"The room we stayed in was spacious and with about every amenity possible. The room had a kitchen (very large) which was well equipped with a stove, refrigerator, microwave and even dishwasher! The appliances were top notch. The grounds surrounding the rooms were lovely. Can't say enough to express how happy we were that we stayed here."

"The room was clean and comfortable. It’s in a great location close to the beach and restaurants. The pool was nice too. The breakfast room is small and we had to bring our food on trays down the sidewalk back to our room because there was no room to sit down."

"The room was clean. Much more spacious than the images online. There was a good size table with two chairs, two nightstands, each with two outlets attached to the lamp. Fluffy pillows, tall comfy bed, fireplace which we used, and clean bathroom. Walls are a bit thin as we could hear the bath shower sounds of the next room which are behind the wall where our bed is located. "

"I cannot say enough good things about Tradewinds. The staff from the time i made the reservation online was great. They called before I got there and then sent me a text to say the room was ready. Their hotel is awesome. Very tranquil and "zenish". My room was beautiful and breakfast delivered to you front door every morning. I am looking forward to staying with them again! Highly Recommend!"

"I feel like the photos don’t do this place justice! I was pleasantly surprised by how cozy and spacious the room was. The king bed was very comfortable, there’s a good amount of surfaces and closet space to store your belongings, and I was surprised to discover a door to another room of two twin beds! Had more space than I needed. The fireplace is a cool touch. I honestly forgot there was even a partial view of the ocean, so that was a nice touch. The water in the shower heats up quickly which was great for chilly evenings or mornings in late October. It’s super walkable to all the restaurants and shops in the town, and also to the beach for a bit of a longer walk (it’s uphill back into the main area). Everything was super clean and I appreciate that there were things like an ice bucket, plastic cups, plenty of shampoo, conditioner & body wash. Would definitely recommend this spot as it’s cheaper than the fancier trendier spots, but ticks off all the boxes of what you need. My only suggestion would be to have a filtered water tap somewhere, in addition to the ice machine. But I didn’t really look in the lobby area so maybe there was something there. Also parking was easy even if you can’t manage to get one of the on-site spots."

"Great location and friendly staff. Have stayed here a few times over the years. Rooms are nicely decorated and sized as typical for an Inn in Carmel. Parking available which is a plus. Location puts you on the main shopping road and a short walk down to the beach entry. "

"The hotel amenities, location, design and staff were all great. Our room was small but functional (other room types were larger). Great proximity to Ocean Ave shops and restaurants. Excellent breakfast provided and the hot tub was a great addition. "

"Could not have had a better stay at Stilwell! This hotel is squeaky clean, modern, pet friendly and in an amazing location. Staff are friendly and rooms are super cute and comfortable. They offer wood fired pizzas and a menu of other eats and drinks in the evenings. The outdoor space is relaxing and nicely decorated. I highly recommend staying here on your next trip to Carmel by the Sea!"
