Oh what a find. This is so much fun. Outside listening to the frogs right now. The only improvement may be to wash the gable windows upstairs to get an even better view. We will be staying here from now on between Texas and Florida drive. Thanks so much for the incredible vacation.

Wonderful stay!! Upon arrival, we took a wrong turn, our porch was a little dirty, but it was beautiful on the inside. The kids had an amazing time and the private beach was cool.

We stayed for two nights that were absolutely amazing!! The trails for walking were great and well marked . The deck had a great view of the river and the fireflies at night were a added bonus !!

Great Getaway Cabins!

These cabins are amazing! Perfectly outfitted with much thought in providing everything that a guest needs. We only wish we had booked more time here.

This was just as advertised. It is secluded yet close to the town. It has great facilities along with walking trails and a beautiful river flowing beside it. We only spent one night, but will definitely return.

I have to say it was one of the best and most enjoyable places I have ever stayed. It was so clean and nicely furnished. The location was so peaceful and pleasant. It is deep in the woods and takes a few minutes longer than you imagine to get to the cabins but was so worth the drive. I would give it 11stars!

Cabin was beautiful! The view was so pretty! We felt like we were going into an enchanted forest with all the solar lights lighting the pathway. We loved the fire pit at night time:) only issue we really had was when taking a shower, the hot water would go in and out. But other than that, the place was perfect for our weekend getaway!

We checked-in and immediately left. The property is deep in the woods and lacked any formal oversight. Dodge this place if you value your organs.

Nice, quiet cabin away from everything.

Great nice, quiet Cabin in the woods. If you want to be away from everything, this is your place. There are about 9 cabins total, but it is quiet and comfortable. Gravel road in could use some work, but once you get there it is very peaceful. All solar powered electric. Free range chickens roaming the area, sometimes on your deck. Great for a couple or small family.

Thieves do not stay here

Well everything seemed ok on paper with this stay until they had a severe weather issue cause their generators to fail in freezing conditions. We were told to leave in the middle of the night and go find other lodging and that we would be refunded later. 10 days later they will not return a phone call, text, or email. They also wont reply to hotels.com. If you want to be lied to and have your money stolen please stay here

Great Girls Getaway

We needed a halfway stay for a girls night away and Whiskey on the River was the perfect spot. It does feel like you're driving down winding gravel roads for a while but it actually isn't far off the pavement and the quiet privacy is perfect! We'll be back for sure. The cabins are perfectly decorated, porch furniture is great along with a fire pit when it's cool. We were pleasantly surprised and exceeded expectations.

I am not one to leave reviews but I thought I would this time. My husband and I have came here 2 years in a row. We were always so pleased with everything. We just went March 2025 amd we were not pleased. The cabin has really gone down in cleanliness. The large arch windows in the bedroom were filthy. The had spider webs everywhere. The place needs painted bad. The worst thing was the road condition. We were in my husbands Denali truck and the potholes still beat us to death. Now I will say that they are working on the main road but not any work done on the whiskey river road. We dreaded leaving to go eat bc the bumps were HORRIBLE !

This place is horrible!! I think it is fictitious. My code to the door wouldn’t work. I tried to reach the property manager several times. After no response, I left the property. I have asked my credit card company to investigate the property. Hopefully I will get a credit for the charges.

Major disappointment

The gravel road into the cabins was horrible. Big potholes that need to be fixed ASAP. When we arrived the driveway into cabin 3 was so tight I had to back up a few times to get into the drive. When we got to the porch/patio area it was awful. The roof was covered in spiderwebs. The furniture was disgusting, it looked as if it had ash or mold on the cushions. The fireplace had roaches in it. The grill was not cleaned. When we stepped inside there were stains on the wall. The fan up the upstairs area wouldn't work. Even if it had, it was so covered in dust we would have regretted turning it on. The couch had an odd stain on it as well. I tried calling the owners twice. I left a message explaining and asking for a call back. It has been 3 days and I still have not heard from them. We left and got us a hotel in the city. Hotels.com can't even get the owners to respond to them. I will upload the few photos I took. Unfortunately I didn't take any inside.
