"We returned to the Phuket Marriot for the second time. It was just as good as the first. Amazing facilities and friendly staff. Our room was spacious and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable and the cleaning staff were excellent. It would have been nice to know in advance that there was a large corporate event planned for the week. The closure of certain parts of the resort including restaurants and certain areas was a little annoying."
"Rating: 3/5
The staff was a standout: friendly and attentive, and the shuttle service between the rooms and the lobby was a surprisingly useful touch, especially given the property's layout. The views were the other major win — serene, lush, and calming in a way that felt genuinely restorative. The surrounding environment gives off a full rainforest aesthetic that's hard not to appreciate. Just come prepared with bug spray, because the mosquitoes are relentless.
That said, we came to Phuket straight from Bangkok, and the contrast was hard to ignore. The rooms felt noticeably smaller and less maintained — spider webs in the shower, a slow drain, and an A/C unit that kept cutting out made it difficult to fully relax. We also experienced a couple of electrical outages during our stay. They didn't derail the trip, but they're worth mentioning.
We did our research before choosing Patong Beach, so the decision was informed. However, it's one we wouldn't make again. If you're coming straight from Bangkok, temper your expectations on the accommodations front. Great seafood and burger finds. The nature and staff make it worthwhile for the right traveler, but the upkeep needs work."
"The place felt like a maze, so I didn't get to enjoy the whole resort. The staff had no map of the resort therefore I only saw 10 percent of it. They also said there there was three pools though I could only find one, that's how much of a maze it was."
