"I don't usually review properties, but in this case I feel it's my duty to share what I experienced. Check in took 1 hour as there's no check in desk, but you're supposed to contact an "agent" (some guy called Steven Gunawan) who asks you to deposit 500 ribu to his bank account in order to guide you through a treasure hunt to collect the keys of the room. Once we got the keys, the water in the shower was cold (you need to switch on something, but of course you have to figure it out yourself),...

"Room was nice and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Price of the room was good. Not too keen on the amount of mirrors, think it’s to make the room have a larger feel. Quite cramped. I wasn’t happy to find the roof space locked until the cafe opened. And the door at the end of the corridor. Only way out during the day was the main entrance. I did think food and drink to be expensive, but I suppose it was Jakarta and to be expected. Shuttle service to the airport was excellent."

"We've used the Anara for over-night transit and early morning flights several times. The room was fine this time, but the fire alarm went off at 1am on the second floor and there was a lot of confussion with little support from the staff. One of the stairway doors was unavailable so people were all using one stairwell to exit. Once in the lobby they were taking room numbers, but there wasn't anyone available to provide information until we were all told we could return to our rooms. A scarry situation that could have been handled better. Their breakfast buffet is good, and opens at 2am, which is nice for early morning departures."
